Royally Chafed?

Not sure why I keep getting behind in posting...I'd like to pretend I'm involved in something grand or awesome, but feel free to assure yourself that nothing of the kind is happening on my part. So here is the catchup ketchup! Buddy has been invited to perform in 2 parades over the last two weekends showing his no-hands pogoing skills! You should totally be impressed because he is the only new student in his circus class that was invited.
I think he fits the part of a circus act quite well if I do say so myself! In other news, Buddy took up inhaling....and exhaling if I'm being honest...
Of course, that was only after the doctor chastised me for waiting "too long" that his simple cough had turned into an asthmatic infection. I would have been offended, but she told me that she didn't need to go to medical school to tell that he was sick....which I, of course, assumed meant I have an honorary medical degree because I knew he was sick and took him to the doctor after I had given his body enough time to fight off an illness with his own immune system. So I'm positive she was really giving me a mental high five! In other news, Shane and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary yesterday by going to a fancy dinner.  Buddy got to tag along as third wheel. When I came out of my bedroom dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, I saw Buddy had gotten himself dressed for the occasion...
Needless to say, Shane and I both went back and changed! The wait staff was so impressed at our fancy attire (it's Hawaii after all so a coverup over a swimming suit is fancy wear to most of us), that several of the waiters commented on how awesome it was to see us looking so nice. FYI-the restaurant was a fancy restaurant, and the people sitting next to us were wearing tank tops and shorts. Also FYI- I never confessed that the only reason we were dressed so nice is because Buddy was dressing for the occasion, so we decided to be good parents and match him. So all in all a super fantastic, Buddy finally went back to school so I can go running (yep, it's all about me), day!

Circus, circus...

We've been super busy around these parts....doing what, I'm not exactly sure, but I'll pretend we've been super busy, which is why my blog is so behind. So here's the news....Buddy and I got to babysit an actual baby. Trust me, it's a lot more fun when it's a real one instead of one of those plastic dolls that just lays there....although those dolls that eat and then poo are pretty awesome too....
Buddy enjoyed it just as much as I did, he'll make a great big brother someday (no I am not pregnant, just pretending that you can get pregnant when you're going through menopause AND you have more fibroids and cysts than they can even count down in your lady bits)! Anyway, the boys have discovered a new trail for mountain biking. They have also discovered that if they give me the crappy bike it's not only hilarious, but they get to go way ahead of me so it's like they're lost in the wilderness all on their own....just kidding, they aren't lost, they have to wait for me to make sure I don't get lost because I have an uncanny ability to get lost ANYWHERE!!! I know, I'm special!

The best news is that Buddy started going to circus classes so he can run away with the circus when he gets older...just kidding, the circus doesn't come here anymore after that incident with the runaway tiger....Anyway, Buddy loves his class, he's currently learning stilt walking, juggling, plate spinning and unicycle riding....

He thinks he's pretty awesome. I completely concur! So all in all a super fantastic, need to blog more, day!!!

True love....

When we moved to this island over 5 years ago, I immediately put in my request with Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and whoever else would listen for a paddle board. The Grinch, however, assured me that a paddle board was impracticable and  we had no way to transport it! Over the weekend the Grinch changed his mind and got me what I've always wanted....Buddy's always wanted!

I must admit, the boy is a natural....so natural that I had to finally kick him off 10 minutes before sunset so I could get pictures with my board for proof to show the world wide web....

We(and I'm using that term loosely) took it for a spin today and with the crazy winds that have been blowing due to the impending hurricane, someone may have not put it a safe position and the wind kicked it up and landed it onto a concrete barricade knocking off the two side fins....

Okay, that may be a little overly dramatic....but you have no idea how much I've wanted a paddle board. Plus, it made Buddy feel a lot better to take funny pictures since it may or may of not been his fault they got broken off and I cried a little bit because I'm totally lame....So all in all a super fantastic, working on getting reunited, day!
