Under the weather.....

I've been pretty sick for the last week or so. Thank goodness I have a good nurse to suggest some ocean therapy for me.....

FYI-as much as I'd like to pretend it helped, it really didn't! Also, I'm pretty sure it was just a ruse from my "nurse" to get out of the house and avoid his homework. While I've been "laid up" Buddy has been tolerating my multiple childhood stories, one including getting yelled at for pretending to have pigeon-toes....until the "yeller" looked at a few pictures lying around the house and realized I probably wasn't pretending. Buddy actually got a giggle out of my personal anguish (just kidding, I don't need therapy, well, perhaps some physical therapy, but I'm good). We've done a reenactment for your viewing pleasure, because nothing is better than a reenactment!

I'm not sure how he does it, but I think the Budster pulls the look off well (of course, once again, I'll admit my personal bias on this).....

Now if only I could find one of my classic pigeon-toed classic pictures we'd be set! In other, other news, here is one of the latest pictures from the family party over Thanksgiving with Buddy and Shane's parents....

All the pictures turned out super cute, which makes me want to run out and buy $5,000 worth of camera equipment so I can replicate the results at any time!......I wish I were actually joking! So all in all a super fantastic, biased, day!

He's #1....

Yesterday my sister-in-law emailed us some pictures we had taken at a family party. When I saw them, all I could think was.....I HAVE THE BEST KID EVER!!!!!!!!

Holy crap,  that kid is a hilarious keeper! I know I'm biased, but I've seen these pictures at least 20 times and I'm still laughing at his face (wait, a mom is totally allowed to say that, right?). In other news, Buddy has been begging for a few months now to have Skyler over for a play date. Today was the day.....

She sits right next to him in class and according to Buddy, "she loves homework and can complete a math test in less than a minute". Hmmmm, maybe she should be over more often! So all in all a super fantastic, love my kid, day!

Death becomes her....

Yesterday I was so sick I could barely stay in an upright position for more than 3 minutes. Thankfully, I was recovered enough to hang out with 14 of the cutest boys and walk 2 miles at the beginning of the local parade! That's right, we were THE HEAD OF THE LINE IN A PARADE!!!!!....

 Errr, well if by recovered enough is interpreted as red as a beet, sweating through your clothes, hyperventilating and begging the boys to pull you in a derby car recovered enough.....which I totally do!

Afterwards we totally took advantage of our neighbors (shhh, don't tell them!). We borrowed their wiggle car (because the one in our driveway is not located in their driveway apparently)....

Then we decided to take some more advantage....by getting our dog walking in...

While we were at it, we got our kid walking in too....

It's always good to take advantage of your neighbors......ummmmm, I just don't know what else to say about that! So all in all a super fantastic, walked out, day!

Education in the arts....

When Buddy got home from school, I put him straight to work.....

On our derby car/wagon for the parade on Saturday. It still needs a little tune up, but we have a whole other 36 hours to gussy that bad boy up! When he was done with that, I let him have some time off for good behavior with another painting assignment....

Complete with whistled Christmas tunes (of course). I'm am now thoroughly exhausted from making Buddy work so much! So all in all a super fantastic, paint drying, day!

Genetics....

While Buddy was hanging with all his relatives, they all started talking about all the cool things that they can do with their bodies. You know, like wiggle your ears/eyebrows, jiggle your eyes, roll your tongue. Buddy was on par with all of it, until his uncle Jens did "crazy eyes".  Buddy had 5 hours to spare on the airplane ride home so he could work on his skills......

Nailed it! Now, I'm just wondering what we would do if Shane were part of a "normal" family....

I'm thinking bored silly would be the answer! So all in all a super fantastic, looking at you....and something else at the same time, day!

Christmas.....

Best thing about Christmas? You'd think it'd be the presents, or the quality family time decorating the tree....

Or even the obligatory dressing up like Santa ....

Nope, the best thing about Christmas is mailing the Christmas cards....

That's right....one by one....

Thank goodness we live in such a small town or the mail ladies might not have thought his mailing, then watching each individual card go down the slide was so cute.....did I mention he watched all 125!!!!! I guess we had nothing better to do, well, he did have homework, but I think the monotony of watching cards go down a slide trumps homework any day. So all in all a super fantastic, getting in the Christmas spirit, day!

Signs of the times...

Thank goodness we went to Seattle so we could spend quality time with family.....

Or should I say computers! Hmmmm, some family reunion! I'm pretty certain we've done a version of this nestled warmly on our island! Of course we couldn't do this.....

during our enforced computer breaks! (Well, we could, it just wouldn't be as fun without Kiara)! Buddy has declared our visit to Seattle the "best vacation ever!".  But then again, any vacation that includes your cousins and your own personal computer to play Minecraft on is pretty sweet. Then, you add cousins jumping on a trampoline....in the dark.....

and we've entered epic vacation status! Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end......and all kids need to go to sleep! We got home late this afternoon, just in time to unpack and someone closed their eyes for the first time in a week and fell asleep while "resting" along the arm of the couch.....then preceded to fall off of the couch, still sound asleep! So all in all a super fantastic, taking a vacation after the vacation, day!
