Today, Buddy's train and I took a flight from Lake Charles to Houma. Buddy was very kind to let me borrow his train, so I won't be bored a bit while I'm away! Tomorrow it may come in very handy, as I am slated to sit on a "toadstool" out in the ocean all day long while a mechanic fixes someone else's broken helicopter. (He's stuck out there tonight, yuck!)  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

The train convention....

So today, I went to work, worked my tail off and then was told to take my tail home early. Long story short, I picked up Buddy, we went home and then we pondered for about 2 seconds what to do. Play with trains, duh... Buddy found the train he got from his cousin Tyler. It's a Christmas train to go around the tree, but who needs a holiday or a tree when you can just play with trains...

And of course trains need a good inspection...

And every once in a while you need to have a meeting, just to see which one makes the loudest toot...

And just sometimes, the loudest toot comes from you...

All in all a super fantastic day.
Over and out, Buddy and some crazy lady...

The mouse in the house!

Today we woke up way to early to take Shane to the airport. Buddy has been awake ever since, I on the other hand have taken great advantage of the fact that my parents live 5 minutes away and took a power nap whilst Buddy was well taken care of and chauffeured to school. When he got out, he wanted to spend his money that he earned from his good job chart (basically a chore chart with things we're working on, like feeding himself, going to bed when asked, not throwing a tantrum before school- you get the point). So off to Target we go. We got Mouse Trap, loved it then, love it now. Buddy has been playing nonstop with either the board or taking one of the mice around the house as his new friend. Here's some lovely pictures of how to enjoy Mouse Trap...

Buddy is giving his stamp of approval to the game....

After we finished playing, we went outside to play in the tot lot. It seems that Mouse must have gotten a little cold, he needed some hot cocoa. Buddy is helping him drink his share through osmosis....

And he got a little dirty, so Buddy had to give him a bath in the sink (I wasn't allowed to take a picture while he was in the bath, that would be indecent) but here he is after getting dry (that's descent?)....

Then Buddy started signing his Valentine's. He's showing off how he can write so you can read it in the mirror. My boy the genius!

Over and out, Buddy, his mom and the mouse...

Calling all cars...

So these past few days we've been playing and having fun. We've gone swimming, tubing and lots of using our imaginations. We built a ramp for cars out of a leftover piece of wood, followed by piling up all of Buddy's books ( which really had my cleaning compulsion going into some serious overdrive). Buddy wanted to demonstrate how ramps work....
If you can't get your ramp to work just right sometimes it will look like this...

So after we did some ramp building we decided to do some creative drawing. We started with drawing cowboys, but instead of adding clothes, I was told that it was really hot in Texas and that the cowboys should be naked. So we drew our naked cowboys, but they were missing something? Hmmm, thank goodness Buddy filled in the missing pieces, don't worry I didn't add the graphic pictures of the cowboy peeing on the red ants, that would have been crass!
On Saturday we went Tubing at the Olympic park. It was lots of fun, we made a family pact that when Buddy turns 18 we're all going to go down the bobsled run. Buddy is getting some practice in before then...

First we had to walk up the hill, we all took turns getting pulled in the tubes, Buddy was a little slow pulling us, and people kept staring at us, but very relaxing as you can see from his turn...

Of course no day of tubing could be complete without a nice cup of hot cocoa...

Or showing off our fancy ski moves....(It is weird we're all wearing the same outfit, team uniforms I'm thinking). I don't want to brag, but it appears I'm so good that I'm playing the harmonica on my way down!

All in all a bunch of super fantastic days, tomorrow dad is leaving and we'll be entertaining ourselves again, next time anatomically correct animals?...

Swimming Robots

Buddy found the Capsela building toys, and yesterday we built this great swimming robot.  It's air powered and uses a fully functional remote control to drive all around the pool.  It even has a siren and flashing "laser lights" on the front.  What a blast it is to have a pool that virtually nobody else uses at our disposal!

Today, Buddy took the robot to Show and Tell at his preschool, he is quite proud of it!

Robots, robots, robots...

Today Buddy went to school, I only stayed for 10 minutes until I got permission to leave, yay me! When Buddy got home he decided to open some accounts on the computer...

Then we decided to do some crafts, which apparently involve some Chinese torturing devices...

Then we decided to see if daddy stunk...

Apparently yes is the answer...

We chowed down some grub...

Followed by some high quality fun with dad building a ROBOT!!!!

We'll see you on the flip-flop, over and out!

Cupcakes, the Dentist, and Rockband

Kevin got to stay the night, and didn't have school today. Apparently while I was at the dentist having a root canal done (yuck!), the boys found their way into some yummy cupcakes.

Later, the whole famdamily joined in for some good ol' Rockband fun! Danni sang, Kevin played the guitar, and Buddy and I played the drums.
