Lover boy?....

When I met Buddy at school to walk home today (fighting gale force winds might I add), we had lots of time to talk. He couldn't remember what he did, or what he ate (other than he had chocolate milk), but he did remember that he had 2 girlfriends. Unfortunately his amnesia kicked in after that. He couldn't remember their names, what color their hair or skin is, but he remembered that they both play nice and told him that they like him. I guess a rose by any other name would smell as sweet and love is blind (literally) and as long as they "play nice" it's all good!
So all in all a super fantastic, playing nice day!

Wing man...

Today when I picked Buddy up from school, everyone was saying bye to him. Teachers from other classes, kids from other classes, other parents, seriously? It's only his third day! Afterwards we went to a nearby beach resort (name withheld to protect the innocent-that's me by the way) to use their fantastic infinity pool. While we were there Buddy met another 6 year old boy from B.C., they played together and then used pick up lines on the girls walking by. Yep, you read correctly, my boy is already trying to pick up girls and has a wing man in place. They're suppose to meet up after Buddy gets out of school tomorrow, he's currently in the bathroom grooming his eyebrows to get ready for the occasion. Here are a few pictures of our adventure (minus the wing man)...

So all in all a super fantastic, how you doin', day!

Nothing to do....

Today was a very good day off, probably one of the best days off ever. By that I mean, Buddy was in school and I am in my early retirement phase with nothing better to do than a little of this...

Poor Buddy, when he came home, he had nothing better to do than a little of this...

In other news, Buddy completed his second day of school without incident. Matter of fact the kid that reported on Buddy's exemplary behavior yesterday, once again commented on Buddy's fine upbringing. To defend his own honor, Buddy reported he farted a silent but deadly one.He said it was so stinky it even stunk him out and all the kids kept making comments about "someone needing to go to the bathroom". Buddy countered them by offering up that it was "just a fart"! My boy, how did I forget to teach him that you never claim a stinky fart? Hmmmph!
So all in all a super fantastic day!

Guns in school?...

So how do you get your 6 year old to go to school the very first day in a whole new area, where he doesn't know a soul and is crying about being scared? Well, since I'm a Mother of the Year nominee, let me tell you! You bribe him and reassure him that everyone is scared and nervous on their first day and then bribe him some more that he's going to have a fantastic present waiting for him when he gets home. Maybe before you do the bribing you should check out the one store within a 40 mile radius, or you may end up with this....

Am I proud? Not at all. Is he happy? Completely! Of course he did fantastic and said he had a good day. One kid came up to tell us that Buddy was a model of good behavior today (yeah, just wait till tomorrow kid). Several kids were rubbing his newly polished head while they were heading out the door. It's a win-win, especially when your father is in the NRA, oh, actually that's not a joke, oh well! So tomorrow we can rinse and repeat, except now we're going to start walking to school because someone wants to do the walk all on their own like a big boy! Of course someone's mother is having a heart attack by that request and will now be placing a homing device on their child before he heads out the door in the morning (as well as holding his hand for as long as he will possibly let me-I'm hoping I have at least 5 more years on that one).
So all in all a very super fantastic, first day(kinda) of school day!

5...4...3...2...1...

Tomorrow Buddy starts school, at least we hope so! With him being sick and a bit of homesickness on his part lately, all he has wanted to do is to stay at home and play while Shane is at work. That behavior has kind of led me down the path of the cuckoo bird! I will admit that I am lego'd, train'd, and toy car'd out! My imagination can do no more! So today Shane had the day off, and with him working his little caboose off, all he wanted to do was sit around and do nothing too! Seriously, don't these boys know we live in Hawaii? Maybe they didn't get the memo, I'll be sure to send one out ASAP!
What we did do today was make a rocket that Buddy designed, then gave him a haircut he also designed (he is wanting to grow it out a bit so he can look like his Uncle Jens).

Is it wrong that I want to be a stay at home mom part time and just stay home (by definition only) full time? Just wondering? Now we're having a slumber party in my bed before the first (again) day of school!
So all in all a super fantastic, school is cool, day!

Mauna Kea...

Today we took a trek to the world's tallest mountain. Yeah, we're cool like that, no big deal. All I have to say is IT WAS FREEZING! Oh, and the super fancy telescopes they let us use to see the super moon tonight was pretty fantastic! First, there was a cultural celebration with story telling, dancing, chanting and a competition of strength...

(Do I embarrass Buddy now and let everyone know a girl beat him, ahhh, there's plenty more embarrassment to come with being my kid,so I'll ease him into it)!
Then there were the telescopes, lots of them, huge and fantastic (and quite expensive I'm sure)...

In other news, Buddy has had a headache for two days. Last night he had a high fever with his headache. So of course after leaving Meningitisville just a few months ago I was up all night checking on him. When I told Buddy this morning I was really tired
from checking on him through the night (OK, he slept in my bed, but I was constantly checking his breathing and temperature-by hand, I'm a human thermometer you know) Buddy asked me what I would have done if he had stopped breathing, so I told him I'd do artificial respiration's and call 911. Sweet boy immediately gave me a hug and told me that was the nicest thing anyone had ever said to him! Maybe I do have that Mother of the Year in the bag after all!
So all in all a super fantastic, glad we packed our coats and Tylenol, day!

Boring...

Just another boring day on the island...

I mean another boring day hangin' with the boys!

All in all a super fantastically boring day!
