Workin' it...

So this blog is going to be kinda quick. I sent Buddy to school with a headache so he could do his spelling test, then the teacher was going to call me to come pick him up. Wow, am I that mean or am I that good? Yesterday one of the neighbor boys came over and we made flubber...

The overwhelming consensus was that gloop is just way cooler. After that we rode our bikes for a while. Buddy got a new bike light that flashes red and blue. I'm sure you can't imagine the fun he had with that, and I won't mention the 10 moving violation tickets that Officer Buddy issued me either. Seriously, nepotism means nothing to him! Anyway, back to the sick boy, he sure is a ham. By the time we reached his classroom not only was he holding his head, but he was pulling along his leg Quasimodo style. I'm still not sure why, but I won't judge, at least he wasn't having a pseudo-seizure, so I guess I'll be grateful.
So all in all a super fantastic, ready to torture someone with home school(I mean that in the nicest way), day!

Decisions...

Sometimes it's really hard to make up your mind about things, so in order to decide a couple of things we've started to flip for them. Like who made the funnier face between Buddy and his aunt Hayley (see what I mean? Close call)...

Who gets to chew on the stick?....

I'm just wondering if there might be something a little smaller out there that we could use to flip?...

So all in all a super fantastic, flipping for it, day.

Ouch!!!

I volunteered to help at Buddy's school yesterday for picture day. I came home and complained to Shane about how rude I thought a male teacher was to me, seriously I'm a volunteer(translation, be nice to me). Buddy snuck in the room while I was complaining and said, "mom, how come you complain about everyone so much". Wow, the truth stings a bit I must say. My only defense is I only have Shane to vent to. Unfortunately where Shane and I are, Buddy is sneaking around to have a listen, that and honestly I'm crabby! So back to happier days...

Thank goodness I have proof that I'm not such a crab apple, because this was only 2 days ago!
So all in all a super fantastic, aiming to be more like Buddy, day@

The Signs....

I'm pretty sure posted signs are more for guidelines than strict adherence right? I mean you can't believe everything you read! Take this one for example...

I mean, they explored the area for a whole 30 minutes and they still didn't see any hot lava like the sign warned about, what a waste! Then they crossed the fence to this beauty and didn't even fall into a bubbling steam vent....

Then Buddy hung on the bars and didn't even fall 500 hundred feet to his death (yea, I feel weird about even joking about this one, but in my defense there wasn't a sign therefore it is pure game in the land of jokes)...

As far as joking goes I believe all is fair game, especially in the art of love and war. According to my Romeo (that'd be Buddy) his girlfriend broke up with him when he played a prank on her while she was in the bathroom. He was a little bummed about it, but seriously a first grader that is already pulling pranks on his girlfriend, while she is in the bathroom, nonetheless, gets seriously high rankings with me!!!
So all in all a super fantastic, pull my finger, day!

Smarty Pants...

Did you know that the other day while Buddy was in class, his teacher gave them a math problem and then after the allotted time the teacher gave them the answer. Buddy corrected her and conceptualized why she was wrong, and she agreed. Genius, I think it has a lot to do with our poopy sense of humor, but bowels if I know!
So all in all a super fantastic, did you know that I'm Buddy's classroom mom (I have no idea what it means but it sure sounds awesome), day

Rhyme Time...

We've taken Dr. Seuss to a whole new level. Sometimes reading is a whole lot funner (that's totally a word, right) when you can act it out. See! He is better than the Cat in the Hat. He can do this....

He can do that....

In other news, Buddy has a fascination/addiction with America's Funniest Video's. Today after school we're having a brainstorming idea party (OK it's just us two), to figure out what we should videotape. Hopefully it doesn't involve anything that lands one of us in the ER, cause seriously AFV is starting to look a little more like jacka$$ these days and I'm not down with that!
So all in all a super fantastic, we're going to be on TV, day!

Dr. Seuss?

Yesterday when Buddy came home from school, I had him read THE CAT IN THE HAT to me. I think that must have put him in a whimsical Seussy mood cause when he woke up this morning (6:48, not that I was cringing in horror at the earliness of it), he asked for green eggs and ham...

Shhhh, don't tell him we didn't have ham so it was turkey instead. He also asked me to pack him a lunch. He usually just buys his lunch, but every once in a while he gets a kick out of taking his lunch. It must've been quite a while since the last kick, since I found an old stinky lunch in his lunch box. I'll just say gross and move on the the next subject, which will be girlfriends. Buddy told me last night that he has a new girlfriend named "Marine", she's the one that he put his arm around and waited with while her sister was coming to get her. I asked him what happened to Jasmine (the one from two weeks ago). "Oh, she's my ex-girlfriend now". Really, my boy is that much of a player that by month's end he'll have "dated" all the girls in his class? Yeah, probably. His teacher was sitting beside me while we watched Buddy busting the moves on Marine, she suggested Shane give him some lessons. I don't think he needs them, and I'm starting to think that perhaps I don't have that 10 years to wait to worry about my boy getting into trouble with the girls, it's starting now.
So all in all a super fantastic, why is he growing up, day
