What in the......

We did a whole bunch of nothing today.....I have no one but the cat to blame for that! As you can clearly see he's holding me hostage.....

I did make the boys go on a walk so I could play on the swings at a nearby park.....If anyone on my island had been wanting to go swing on the swings at a park, I'm just giving you a heads up that there are no more swings....

Seriously people.....is there nothing good left in this world? Oh well, at least I got to embarrass Buddy while I wore my Bunny suit, that should count for something!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, you can even see the disappointment in Buddy's face, day!

Lamest ever!!!!

 Today is my birthday! My mother may have gotten me the worst present ever....well, I'm sure there are worse gifts, but hers is pretty bad.....Good thing she's so cute so I can forgive her for her lame present this year!

Just kidding mom....well, your present was lame, but if I know anything that you taught me, it was   "you brought me into the world so you could take me out of it", nope that wasn't it. It was, ain't, ain't a word, ain't it. Nope......"beggars can't be choosers" ? Hmmm....nope, I think it was "it's the thought that counts"? Don't worry, I have exacted my revenge by delivering goods to her door to cinch my favorite child status....shhh, don't tell my siblings!

There's only room for one favorite child, and that's my spot !

At least my coworkers gave me a substantially better gift with these daily affirmations socks....

They go great with my birthday suit!

As icing on the cake,  my sister sent me a picture to add to my collection of my dad "reading"! 

All those pictures are going to come in handy some day, I just know it!!!

So all in all a super fantastic, thankful for modern medicine, healthcare providers and sisters!

I'm baaack!!!!

 So after a very long hiatus where I got one of these...

I can try to catch up what has happened over the last few months. Hawaii went on serious lockdown for the summer.....so we decided to go to socially distance somewhere even better......Buddy learned some new tricks

I forced the entire family into more hikes than ever!!!!

This hike led Buddy to the top of a very tall cliff that I refused to approach closer, least I fall to my death!!! My momma didn't raise no dummy.....Buddy's momma however....

Buddy and Shane discovered a new way to torture me....

It involves a vehicle wrapped in metal and some very small paths and steep cliffs!!

We took Hyrum on our Moab adventures with us and it was amazing....except Hyrum may have lost sensation in his hands after I squeezed them to death during our excursions....

Buddy started 10th grade, and is actually in one of the only schools in Hawaii doing face to face classes...

My picture should be coming soon....let me assure you it'll be awesome since they let me look in a mirror before hand and I have serious face marks from the masks and goggles....

Buddy had a socially distanced Bob Ross birthday party.....

I wish I had been smarter and planned better, I made sushi, but after I finished making it I though if I had been smarter I could have made some disgusting popular gelatin treats from the 70's....oh well, next time. We are cat sitting two cats for some friends that are staying in France for a while and Buddy has gotten used to them without having to take Benadryl or having his head explode!

Finally, my co-workers and I won the prize for best costumes....

Was there ever any doubt in us????

So all in all a super fantastic, getting back at it, day!

Paid in full.....

So, Shane was placed on furlough, my job doesn't pay well....but I do still have a job, at least until summer. So what do you do when you are on a shoestring budget? Buy a crappy cheap motorcycle for your 15 year old to renovate during the current lockdown status.....

 This is him being super duper useful and holding something for Shane to buff out.....Buddy is set for life as a professional holder of things....

 Super bonus, only 2 days of working on it and they got it to start!!!

In other fabulous purchases, I found a new badminton kit for 20 dollars on Ebay....it has been a huge hit and our guest from the Ukraine asks us to play multiple times a day! (Side note, I'm not allowed to post pictures of the student since I'm a school employee as well, so you probably won't be seeing him).  Yes, that is Buddy dressed like he's in the arabian desert....why you ask? Because he can!!!! 

In other news, our ward asked us to post pictures on facebook for kids to do a virtual Easter Egg Hunt....challenge accepted....although possibly not very challenging!!

So all in all a super fantastic, really good at accepting ridiculous challenges and not completing them well, or really well, depending on your level of optimism, day!

Wonderment...

We went on a bike ride......it was so awesome that we went all went on two rides!!! Well, except for Shane, he got a huge work out by driving his car to ferry Buddy and buddy up to the top of the mountain...because mountains are much better down than up...

 I however apparently have no regard for my lung capacity and went up....

Apparently, I lived! So all in all a super fantastic, our leg muscles are going to be huge when this is over, day!

Super Lucky!!!

One of Buddy's classmates couldn't get home because of the pandemic.....so Buddy gets to enjoy social isolation with a friend!!!! He's super lucky. What wasn't lucky was a water line that we broke while planting our garden in preparation for Armageddon.  No worries though, Shane and I braved a trip to the hardware store and the pipe is fixed....and our garden is thriving.....even if it will take 80 days to even sprout anything....but hey, we have a garden.

In other news, we went on some more bike rides today, we did one yesterday....and guess what we have planned tomorrow? If you guessed bike ride, you are correct! How did you get so smart? So all in all a super fantastic, getting kind of saddle sore over here, day!

Spreading cheer for all to hear....

This morning one of my friends posted for anyone in the neighborhood that wanted to participate to place a heart somewhere outside of your house for kids to find as a scavenger hunt during their daily walks. If you know me, I love a good challenge......here is today's effort.....

 Look out for tomorrow's addition of cheer spreading. Buddy decided that since you can't see Captain Crunch at night, he better spread cheer another way.....

I...SO....LATION or I...SO...LONELY???

Apparently it takes the whole world to shut down for me to get a minute to blog. That being said, can I say how sad I am that when I'm supposed to be on Spring Break, the rest of the world is too! Oh well. Thankfully, before the world went crazy with CoVID-19, we went to go stock up on essential supplies. One would think the essentials would be food....or even toilet paper (I don't know, don't ask me why everyone bought all the toilet paper), instead the genius that is my husband, stocked up on shards of broken glass. I think the shards of glass may come in handy later when we don't have any toilet paper. In the meantime, Buddy is learning a new skill.....which will come in handy since Shane isn't working for who knows how long....Buddy will really need to start to earn his keep....

 Buddy is also putting his Lego skills to good use. That thing has been sitting around wanting to be completed for a very long time!!! 

Now we just need a King Kong to really make it snazzy! In other news, we've been trying to invent a replacement N95 mask since basically the whole world is out... 

 Our prototypes are sorely lacking, but I think Buddy is on a great path to be really helpful (and hopefully complete an Eagle Project to boot). In other news, I've been socially isolating with a co-worker. Somehow she talked me into a really far bike ride. I complied and decided it would be a great photo opportunity to look goofy....

During my tomfoolery of trying to look goofy....I fell, looking goofy!!!!

Side note, when you go down hill 5 miles it's really fun, but then when you try to go back up without water, you may have a problem!!!

Water is totally your friend, my friends! In other, other news, the social isolating co-worker and I took our kids on a hike to socially distance ourselves further, it was alright!

So all in all a super fantastic, distant, but not so far away, day!

Tools of the trade....

I took Buddy to a "surf club" camping trip this weekend.....Thankfully, I brought something to surf on!

Shoot....it's a New Year!!!!

Buddy went to a nerf war party this morning.....

Yep, that's him in the trash can, ringing in the New Year in style!!! After it got dark he and his Buddy joined the ringing in the New Year blasting off the muzzleloader! The boys were pretty excited about it....so much so that the two pyromaniacs totally ignored the a whole group of people setting off fireworks around them. I'm sure Buddy's ability to convert grains to grams while measuring black powder will come in really handy one day! So all in all a super fantastic, really banging, day!
