Extracurricular....

Buddy has been out of school this entire week. We decided we should really get him invested in some extracurricular activities to help the time pass more quickly....such as flying.....

 Surfing.....
and his personal favorite (seriously he's been sitting around this getup for hours) train engineering....
With mail delivery of course! This boy! It's a rough life this boy leads! So all in all a super fantastic, this week flew by way too fast, day!

Kismet.....

Sometimes fate sends your twin to another family for you to meet one day at school......
I have spent the last 9 hours with these two, and all I have to say is...I feel horrible for all the teachers that have them together in class! Holy bananas it was loud and crazy around here today! So all in all a super fantastic, investing in ear plugs, day!

Thankful for Christmas....

I've been teaching Primary ( Sunday School for 8 year old kids) for the past month now.  The lesson this week didn't take very long so we decided to make "thankful trees".  Apparently,  I'm mostly thankful for pumpkin pie....that does sound about right!
Buddy had to teach a lesson for Sunday School too....

I think his might have been a lot more fun....actually, I'm certain it was since 3 of the kids and 2 of the leaders came to tell me how "boss" it was. For those of you older than 20, boss is the new lingo for cool.....but, I always knew this boy was cool. He even has the outfit to prove it...
What wasn't cool is finding out that he was supposed to give a talk today as we were sitting for the second speaker to go up and everyone kept pointing to him......errrr, whoops. Thankfully, he got passed over when it was apparent that we had no idea and the thought of me sending him up to speak "off the cuff" so to speak left me internally cringing....love the boy, but I'm not 100% certain that what comes out of his mouth on the spur of the moment would lead to spiritual enlightenment of others....giggles, yes, enlightenment, probably not! So all in all a super fantastic, at least he was dressed well, day!

Not strange at all.....

Buddy  has been taking various instruments to school in order to have a "music off " with a friend during recess....

It makes me giggle every time he talks about it. Turns out a music off isn't quite as cut throat as I though it would be. You know what will cut your throat though.....
These creepy dolls that Shane and Buddy play with at bedtime every night. I'm waiting for one of the boys to up the creepy factor and start hiding those things in creepy places just to see how much bladder control I have these days! So all in all a super fantastic, boys went camping with Boy Scouts so I'm girling out, day!

Growing up....

Buddy is growing up right before my eyes.....Gone is the toddler that would never want to leave my side, even if it was just for a moment so I could go to the bathroom......Just kidding, he still does that, now he just plays his guitar!
So all in all a super fantastic, I'll probably get alone time when he goes to college...except I was planning to be his college roommate so maybe not then, day!

Glimpses.....

This morning on my Facebook feed was a memory from 5 years ago of Buddy and Tyler eating sushi with goofy looks on their faces......
Not much has changed in 5 years.....
Buddy just really, really loves his food!!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, cuddling with your food before ingesting it is the new fad, day!

Creative Gifting.....

My birthday was a couple of days ago.....the boys got creative in their gifts! Shane took me to a fancy (meaning we had to wear clothes) sushi restaurant that we stood in line for a few hours to get into so we could get seated in time for the half-priced Early Bird special....
and the Budster made me his own version of  a coupon card....
This would be the coupon for no video games.....(although, I'm questioning my parenting authority with this one)....
My favor card.....I'm saving this one for something special....
My 10 billion free hug cards.....but I'm wondering why he made the number so low.....
My personal loan card, which makes me laugh.....

My slave for the day card....once again, it makes me question my parenting, doesn't he already know he's my slave?
My personal favorite, going to school while sick, complete with action! Not sure that the school will agree this is their favorite, but I'm hoping for some explosive diarrhea to redeem this coupon (just kidding, I wouldn't do that to my boy.....but I would make him think I would)!!! Hahaha! Motherhood is awesome for pranking!
Yesterday, we did what I consider my actual birthday present, and went kayaking and paddle boarding at the beach! My favorite thing to do!!!! In other news, Buddy is in a group project for his reading class they have to make a movie trailer for the book they had to read over the last month (Harry Potter.....which is kind of lame, cause I think there is a movie that goes by the same name)! Buddy has invited the musical kids in the group to come over Friday because they are actually writing and composing a song for their trailer.....which is super awesome in my book! So all in all, waiting for the magic to happen, day!

Make it stop!!!!!

This picture is from this afternoon....I think Buddy must have gotten too many birthday pinches to grow inches! Thank goodness my birthday is coming up so maybe I'll get a pinch to grow another inch so I can be taller than the boy again!!!!
Also, for Buddy's birthday, he got the  Exploding Kittens expansion pack (aptly named Imploding Kittens)....it comes with a Cone of Shame that I was excited to put on Buddy......
Sometimes things just don't turn out like you want them to........So all in all a super fantastic, seriously, could the boys at least have pretended to be bad at the game so they could wear the cone at least for a minute, day!

Discoveries....

So there are a few things that we've discovered lately that we absolutely love. First on the list, the Glenn Miller Band box set of records that my parents sent Buddy for his birthday. Buddy has been playing the records pretty much nonstop these days. I even convinced him to dance a few songs with me.....now to convince him to take some swing dance classes with me so I can have a portable dance partner with me wherever I go!

Another discovery....which really isn't a discovery, we've known it all along....but we love our Tinker Crates!!!! This is the latest one, a water wheel.....
Lastly, our newest discovery, is actually the newest thing of them all. Last week there was a community build to rebuild one of the local playgrounds.  This past Friday,  after I picked up Buddy from school, we went to go check out the fruits of our labor...

Trust me there is a ton more to this park, but from the overwhelming pileon on the merry-go-round, this is the WINNER of the park! Somehow Buddy was convinced he was one of the strongest of the group and basically pushed the whole time....which from an outsider's point of view is hilarious. I watched his BFF (gray shirt and backwards had) never push while Buddy was running his little heart out! Thank goodness for life lessons....Tyler is a year ahead of Buddy, so maybe that's why he's so wise!!!! Hahahaha!!! Ah, all that running is good for the boy, plus he's kind of weird and likes pushing and doing things for others and not truly participating (kind of like his birthday party that he supervised instead of joining in). So all in all a super fantastic, discovered a lot including that Buddy might possibly be weird, day!

This is Halloween.....

Yesterday was Halloween, one of my favorite Holidays.....followed closely by my birthday (which is totally a holiday in my mind) and Christmas. Buddy had been planning on being Pepe le pew to fit into our Looney Tunes theme we had going on this year...
That is, until he found this....
Then he wanted nothing to do with Pepe le pew.....In his defense, he did say he would wear the Pepe costume if I wanted him too....but who can refuse a kid being kidnapped by aliens? He wore it to school and of course won best costume. Then we high tailed it to his BFF's house where they throw a  Halloween themed potluck every year. I swear when we first moved here it was just us and them, now it's a serious party....
And that's not everyone, because....gasp....not all the adults dressed up!!!! I'm not sure how that even happens? Anyway,  I decided to  wear my roller skates to complete my ensemble.....If only I knew how to stop on my skates, my costume would've been awesome! Oh well, nothing a few calling cards can't handle...
So all in all a super fantastic, totally had a blast....
even if we were abducted by aliens, day!
