Responsible...

While I was at work, Buddy was working too....
Sadly, one of our job sites didn't provide food....(that would be Buddy's, ha). Buddy came home saying they put the food away while he was working.....poor baby!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, had to starve for two whole hours, day!!!

Why does a nose run and feet smell????

Buddy's twin arrived back in town last night.  His mom had to work today, since it was a teacher workday.....we, thankfully,  did not! Well, unless we're calling the boys modeling jobs work??

Nope, definitely not work....unless we are now calling the boys squinting to try to see two feet in front of them....but then again, I think that just may be Buddy's face!!!
So all in all a super fantastic, we get tomorrow off too, day!

Another story....

Buddy went to Youth Conference last night, the only thing I got out of him before he went to lay down was that he had an "okay" time. The pictures tell another story....

When he did wake up he told me how 100 boys slept in a big room and had a sheet and pillow fight and a fart war and was giggling the whole time about it.....but we'll stick with the "okay" time that he had. So all in all a super fantastic, I stole these pictures off the internet, day!

Fantastic fun....

We made it to Waimanu again for spring break, we even survived coming back. This year we added two new kids to the bunch and I am so happy we did! They were fantastic fun.....I think I stayed awake waaaay too late listening in on the kids punny jokes!
Other fantastic things included a kayak that washed ashore to our campsite....It had a huge hole in the back, but we made it work. Shane even took me out for a ride towards the waterfall in the back. We ALMOST made it all the way back before we had to bail out of the sinking ship and dump it....

Someone had left crawdad nets and traps out which the kids made full use of....

Cache brought some fishing line and someone left a pole behind for some fancy fishing....
Buddy got to use his fancy lighter and make a fancy fire. Sadly, everything was wet so it didn't last super long....but his trying sure did.........
Shane finally got to be in a Waimanu picture, he looks pretty enthused about it too....
As you can see, this is us hiking out, so I don't know if he started smiling because he was enjoying himself, or if he's smiling because he knows he's finally done with the torture......
Either way, it was fantastic fun, and the horrible mom in me made Buddy go to Scouts as soon as we got home (okay, I'm not that horrible, I let him shower). Thankfully, they were doing a gun safety class so Buddy didn't complain too much...that is after he came back anyway. The also horrible mom in me made him wake up at the butt crack of dawn to go to Youth Conference where he has been helping a farmer tear down a fence all day, and he'll be camping again tonight!!!!! Oh well, you're only under 18 once  so your mom can torture you with her life decisions! So all in all a super fantastic, I'm sure Buddy is tired, but I've got a lot of stuff done today, day!

and so it begins.....

Yesterday was Buddy's last day of school before Spring Break, to celebrate we took him to a show. The show happened to be the play The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), and we happened to be in the front row! It was AWESOME!!! We laughed, and giggled, and had to participate in the play......and then we wished we knew more of good ole' Bill's works so we would've laughed even more.
To celebrate Buddy's first official day of  Spring Break, we debated between going to Disney World and going on a bike ride. Sacrifices had to be made to make his dreams come true! That would be me squeezed into the backseat of the Prius with 2 mountain bikes!
Quite the sacrifice I assure you! The bike ride won out, mostly by a bank account! Shane dropped Buddy and I at the top of Mauna Loa (11,000 ft) and Buddy and I glided our way all the way down!
It was pretty awesome, people were giving us grief today thought that we were taking the easy way down. To that I say, duh.....and it's not like those bikes could balance themselves! Afterwards, we went to a work party for Shane....
II think we were a smashing hit! So all in all a super fantastic, still waiting for someone to give us the bazillion dollars we need to go to Disney Land, day!

Telltale signs....

I'm not sure if it's because Buddy and I have been planning a dream vacation to Disney World (that will probably never happen because, sadly, I'm not rich) or if he's starting to get sick because he put this DVD on this morning to watch before school....
Yep, that's my 14 year old watching Mickey Mouse cartoons on a DVD he selected out of hundreds. Currently, he's watching Monsters Inc.. I highly approve....not of a sickness, that would be lame and bad parenting! So all in all a super fantastic, hoping this cough is just a little tickle in the throat, day!

We had a special day today, with my extra special kid!
So all in all a super fantastically special day!

Preparations....

Buddy's Spring Break starts next week, we're planning to hike into Waimanu for a couple of days.....so we had to drive over today to make sure the road down was still open since it closed earlier this month due to a mud slide.
The road was open, Buddy's smile....not so much. At least when he got home he got to open his new Eureka Crate....
 2 minutes later.....
Done! In other news, Buddy took a standardized test last month and tested so well that he tested out of ever doing algebra ever again in his life.....that being said, nothing like an easy A during freshman year of college.....but maybe that's just me! So all in all a super fantastic, 3 days till spring break and sadly we are not going to Disney World, day!

Digging to China...

Buddy  has been wanting a pool in the yard, we've had a water pipe burst in the front yard.....
Totally seems like a win-win situation to me.....well, other than the fact that Buddy isn't getting a pool....but hey, free labor!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, child labor laws are for children, not teenagers, day!

Sweet Child of Mine....

Buddy's oldest, bestest childhood friend spent the night last night, which just made me relive memories of those two spending time together and me being a more active kiddo mom....
Apparently, this was the best I've got in me these days! In my defense,  I was on-call for work.....
Instead of making sweet little baby memories, they were making sweet little shooting memories?
Not quite the same! So all in all a super fantastic, not sure why the boys are so boring these days, day!

Training....

Buddy was out sick at school when the 8th grade social studies assignments got passed out. Someone must've been looking out for him because I don't know how else to explain that this kid got to do an entire project centering around trains! I mean seriously, he had Native Americans taking apart the tracks....

A settlement, a Native American village and a river....
with a poster and co-conspirators to boot!
Buddy (and his co-conspirators) presented tonight to the parents, tomorrow is the tough crowd....the 6th graders. In other news, I have reached my maximum lazy parenting potential......The boys went on a bike ride this weekend....

I took pictures from the comfort of my car.....

Genius!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, amazing new laziness heights, day!
