Boys....

What is it about boys, that even if they are the one to build it....

They've still got to continuously peek at how things are running on the inside....

Curiosity, isn't it a marvelous thing! So all in all a super fantastic, cooling down, day!

Officially...

Buddy begged me to take him to "Aunt Donna's" house this morning. I guess her house just became officially cooler than mine....

In other news, the boy is on a camp out with my dad, brother and nephew, which means I'm spending way too much time watching all the girly movies I never get to otherwise! Yay me! Sorry, thought somebody should cheer for me, thank goodness I was around! So all in all a super fantastic, girly, day!

Farming....

Today we helped my sister move into her new farmhouse. Well, let me rephrase that, some of us helped move, some of us familiarized ourselves with the machinery....
Tomorrow Buddy and my dad are going on a Father-Son camp out with my brother and his son. To that I say....YEEHAW!  Errrr, I'll miss him, except for the part where I'm sleeping and he's not sleeping on top of me like a little magnet! So all in all a super fantastic, moving on up, day!

Back with a vengeance....

I have access to a card reader now, so I can update my blog with all kinds of important things like Buddy's impending delivery......

Errrr, how about the all important lollipop? That's definitely blog-worthy.........

I'm not trying to point fingers or anything, but I think someone's mom needs to learn the signs of a sugar overdose, before weirder things than this start happening....

Now the most important, playing in a ditch, more importantly the irrigation ditch, cause what kid wouldn't want to do that.....well, other than me, I liked to look pretty at all times cause I was a princess (my how times have changed)!....

I do believe that expression on Buddy's face in the last picture, is what I refer to as "Heaven". Buddy has been partying it up with my sister's youngest kids, which we thankfully get to steal this week because they are in the process of moving,. It's just so sad that we just have to keep them with us so my sister can concentrate on packing (please note the sarcasm in the above sentence)!  So today after we pretended (yep, key word) to help my sister clean of few things, we skedaddled back to my parents house so we could do this....
Not really sure what the "this" was exactly, but I'm sure if you asked the kids they'd tell you it was lots of fun! So all in all a super fantastic, fantastic, day!

The truth of the matter....

When I was in kindergarten I played on the monkey bars so much during recess one day that I got a ginormous blister that covered my entire palm! I went to the nurse, who put a dressing on covering my entire hand and most of my forearm and then sent me home with a note from school about what she'd done. When I got home my dad took one look at the ridiculous dressing and then he said a few choice words, took the bandage off and forbade me from wearing that over sized bandage again! That memory jolted into my mind when Buddy got this....
And I dressed it like this....

When I tried to get my dad to tell the story about it he had no recollection of it at all! I, on the other hand, never forgot that my dad tried to get me to "man up". Let's just say that didn't work very well,  and I'm the biggest crybaby in the universe. Maybe I dressed Buddy 's wounds like the nurse dressed my wounds because as a nurse it's instinctual to do anything in your power to make it better (even if the pain is all in your head)....or maybe I did it just because I'm not a dad so it's OK to not expect my kid to "man up". The simple truth is, I have no idea if I'm helping Buddy on his path anymore than my dad helped me. But I do know one truth, Buddy said he was glad that I was always around to help him when he was in pain. Also, perhaps even more importantly, I know that....

High heels make you grumpy no matter who you are! So all and all a super fantastic, truth telling, day!

Grandpas....

Grandpa Charlie delivered a healthy bouncing baby boy today. Not sure of the weight, but I'm pretty sure the price of that baby is going to be astronomical! After we left Grandpa Charlie we hung out with our other grandpa in this neck of the woods. He let us follow him around and fixed our tin boat we got today. Then he whipped out the weed whacker and Buddy was in heaven....well, at least until he was whacked, then he was over it! So all in all a super fantastic, except for the whack, day!

Yards.....

I've always had a dream of having a house with a huge backyard for kids to play in. Unfortunately my backyard is quite lackluster, thank goodness I happen to be related to two old people that let me mooch off of them endlessly so I could throw the party I've always dreamed of (well, minus the water balloons, cause I wasn't that much of dreamer today)! HEMI EVEN CAME....
First up Shower Cap Cheetos....

I'd like to say I won that round, but I'd like to believe that my dad won since he was on cleanup crew duty! Also as much fun as it was, I say next time we forgo the shower caps and see what happens on hair.....of course I'll relegate my dad onto the cleanup crew for that mess! Next we played a game of good ole' leaky bucket....

I don't want to imply that Sara was the slowest one, therefore the only one I was able to grab a photo of, but errrr, yeah! Since the kids weren't getting the wiggles out enough, we decided to shake our bums.....

Not surprisingly the girls team won hands down, or bums all around?
After enough rump shaking to rival any rap video, we decided to stick something gooey on our noses to see what would happen.....

When that wasn't entertaining enough, a few decided to see what would happen if you made your whole  face gooey....

Obviously by the looks of that last picture being able to see is highly overrated.....as well as not making a huge mess! After that the kids tested our their stomping skills....

Ummmm, I believe it was a lot of fun, but I also believe I need to stop my Pinterest addiction that is feeding into my party throwing addiction.....well, at least for a week....then we have to throw a goodbye party for ourselves. No worries though, I haven't found any good ideas for my next party, well, at least yet! After the party was over we took some of our favorite party goers to my sister's house where Buddy was promptly greeted at the door and assisted into a wardrobe change....
Unfortunately that was the wrong wardrobe....

That's better! So all in all a super fantastic, invoking my yard envy, day!

The making......

A really good aunt will take her nieces and nephews to really awesome places......and then cram them in like sardines into a confined place for picture taking purposes just for fun....

I do believe I have just upgraded myself to awesome status! So all in all a super fantastic, cramped, day!
