Camping for days....or was that a day of camp?

So the cub scouts are smart, instead of all that sleeping on a hard ground and messing with making a fire and all that outdoor living they have a day camp. Smart thinking I say, except seriously who wants to "make camp" at 6:30 in the morning. The head honchos of Boy Scouts of America have obviously not gotten the memo that I am NOT a morning person....
OK, well, that picture is a bit misleading. At least the boys had a good time...

Is it just me or does my kid have a propensity for attaching himself to a peer or what? The "peer" doesn't seem to mind too much........errrr, well, he was nice about it. So all in all a super fantastic, one day of camping down, one more to go, day!

A case of the overly dramatic......

So all in all a super fantastically theatrical day!

Coordination....

It seems no matter what we do, we just can't all seem to get organized....

Of course, I'm only referring to the picture taking, because when we're talking about having a good time the boys are more than organized....
Then again, buy the looks on their faces it looks more like an organized attack on the interrupter of good times! So all in all a super fantastic, awesomely coordinated, day!

Nap time.....

Nap time is a whole lot more fun, but a lot less effective with a Buddy....

In other news, the boy tried to call my work last night to request for me to be on-call. Thank goodness he didn't realize that I store the number for my work in my phone under the pseudonym Work (I'm tricky that way). So all in all a super fantastic, really tired, day!

Positioned for greatness...

Buddy had a canoe race today....
Errrr, I guess the canoe was just too light and he needed to help the team out by weighing it down....
He's a team player, if nothing else...
Actually, he told me that while he was on the Uma laying down he started paddling with his hands to help the team out.....his teammates yelled at him for slowing them down (although Buddy assured me he was really helping them). Well, I guess that will show them for putting him on the Uma instead of a real seat.....or at least show them he's not to be trusted! Don't worry, the Donkey took care of him.....

Heehee! So all in all a super fantastic, you know you want us on your team, day!

3rd graders "R" us....

When I was in second grade I moved from Maryland to North Carolina. It was a huge transition, plus everyone kept calling me a "Yankee" (which I had no idea what that was, other than apparently it was horrible to be one) and I had the WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!She was so mean that I actually had an accident in my pants one day because I was afraid to ask her for the bathroom pass. Too much information? Errr, sorry, I just can't seem to post without talking about someone's body fluids these days! But seriously, she was meaner than mean! Buddy thankfully has had it so much better than I ever did. Plus I think he has a crush on his teacher, which I guess makes the day go a whole lot smoother. Hands down Ms. DiColli is the best second grade teacher ever!
She even took all the kids to Paris on Wednesday (he went to the Louvre, had some cheese, got renamed Jean and even drank some wine(not really, it was juice)).  Buddy took his camera to school for the trip and made a video of basically the WHOLE DAY! When he got home he made me watch the whole thing with him, what I noticed is that not only does his teacher sing A LOT (which I already knew from showing up early and catching them singing their lessons....which is awesome), but she also dances a ton too! Seriously, what 2nd grader wouldn't love to learn from someone who sings and dances....heck, maybe if I found a professor like that I'd get my Master's Degree instead of procrastinating. Anyway, Buddy has officially completed second grade and is on the fast track to growing up way too fast! To celebrate the occasion I took him and the neighbor kids to the bowling alley  to play video games (cause that's what bowling alleys are for)...
Oh well, at least he's the proud owner of these bad boys....
I think that, in and of itself, makes the 40 minute drive into Kona well worth it! So now we're prepping for our entire summer by  getting ideas by watching Phineas and Ferb! Just kidding, we don't need any ideas, we're on the countdown to Utah and the plan is to be thoroughly entertained by a multitude of cousins! So all in all a super fantastic, hello summer, day!

Exercise partner....

You know, they always say that any exercise regime is more effective with a partner. I guess the same could be said for School Fun Runs? Here are a few tips to make sure you have the best experience, first, pair up with a partner.....bonus points if she's cute and wears the other half of your best friends necklace....

Second, always keep pace with your partner.....

Trust me, it makes you both happier!

Lastly, don't forget the importance of hydration...

You're welcome for the tips.....trust them, they are trained professionals......
Professionals of what, I'm just not sure of yet.  But definitely professional! So all in all a super fantastic, runs are fun, day!

Healthy....

It's always smart to set a good, healthy example for your kids......
Just doing my part! So all in all a super fantastically healthy day!

Disappointed lifestyle.....

Today, when I picked Buddy up from school, I told him that I delivered a baby last night at work. His eyes got big and he was so excited, smiling and bouncing up and down.....Then he asked me where my baby was. Errrrrr, talk about misinterpretation (and me having a fat complex). When I explained what I had meant when I said I "delivered" a baby, I'm surprised he didn't actually cry (and for a brief second I was thinking he was just really excited about my job.....well, about my job that doesn't include a disgusting story connected to it). Anyway, the only way I could stop his murmurings about his disappointment at my barren uterus was to stick a cork in him....
Of course when you make of game of "Hit Your Dad with the Cork", you're bound to forget such things as infertility! The game lost all it's fervor really quick though when Buddy decided it's really difficult to blow out a cork when you're hysterically laughing. So he decided to treat himself to a little arts and crafts therapy....
Then I decided to treat him to a little oral hygiene therapy....
I'm pretty sure it was a win-win for all! So all in all a super fantastic, what were we talking about, day!

Daredevil.....

This afternoon Buddy decided to do some fantastic mountain biking, to see his stunts,
click this link....
I guess that song that says there "ain't no mountain high enough" was a little mistaken when it comes to Buddy and his mountain biking skillz (yes, with a "z" cause he's cool like that)!
So all in all a super fantastic, taking the safe way, day!

Focused?

Buddy has gotten into a little trouble at school lately for his lack of focus....Buddy....not focused......REALLY? Exhibit A....
(This little gem was sent to me from another mom while the boys were "lining up" for school, actually the other two were lining up when Buddy did a sneak attack choke hold from behind). Then today, Buddy had his Ho'olaulea (think Hawaiian celebration with lots of Hula dancing, but perhaps that last bit was just a little bit of redundancy on my part). Anyway, they've been practicing for months, it's quite the serious performance, so here's your exhibit B....
See how all the other kids are actually looking where they're going! Hmmmm, I'm sure I just don't know what his teacher is talking about! Actually Buddy did put on a serious face....after the performance so I could get a picture....
I love that boy, does me proud!!!! So all in all a super fantastically unfocused day!

Weird Science....

Yesterday I took the Budster to the doctor's since he's had a ridiculous amount of diarrhea coming out of his tiny little body over the last few months. It was funny and fun at first, but after a while, the diarrhea songs get boring...plus I could only remember sliding into first (feeling something burst) and sliding into home (feeling something foam)! I mean there are 2 other bases that we just aren't giving homage to, and that's just sad. Anyway, the doctor ordered a stool sample. I thought Buddy would think that was the coolest thing in the world! Seriously, what boy doesn't want to poo in a cup and then have someone else look at it....

Apparently Buddy considers the task disgusting, Shane wouldn't even  be anywhere near the sample (although he was good enough to photobomb my picture repeatedly...too bad we're keeping this rated PG cause seriously the picture is HILARIOUS, I just don't have anyone to share it with without my photoshopping skills added), so guess who gets to play nurse and collect the sample! Hmmmm, I hope I'm getting paid overtime this week! So all in all a super fantastic, not having a poopy job when we grow up, day!

Mother's Day!

I woke up on Mother's Day to the most awesome present.....a blob of diarrhea on my bed. My sweet little pumpkin pie left me the surprise while I was sleeping, and he kept leaving me special presents ALL DAY LONG! I should have gotten the hint that this kid was trouble after a four hour stent in the OR after his delivery.....
It's been a wonderful ride, thankfully, they make drugs to make the ride a little bit sweeter (FYI-I'm totally not condoning drugs here, just thankful I had them in me while several people and several heavy instruments were busy with my pachang-chang)! Shane even got in on the present giving, thankfully he got a little more creative than Buddy, or next year we would be celebrating the second annual Family Diaper Day! Anyway, Shane got me just what I wanted...
It'll be here Thursday! Heck, I'm so excited I might join the crowd and poop my pants too! To top off my awesome Mother's Day, I got to go to work.  Thankfully everyone that pooped their pants also brought their mother to clean up after them (how thoughtful of them, right?). Since Mother's Day was kind of a bust, Buddy decided to make it up to me by helping me out with my baby hungry cravings....
At least I'll pretend that's what he was doing when he hopped into a renegade stroller that's been parked in our driveway for the last two months. (Truly I'm not sure what his stroller obsession is, but he constantly wants to be pushing someone in it....maybe he's baby hungry too). So here's to another awesome Mother's Day, every day I have with Buddy is like a celebration (even if it means I'm cleaning poo)! So all in all a super fantastic, super surprise, day!

Gonna be famous.....

Anyone else go to see the Wizard of Oz tonight? Anyone else take a picture with the Wicked Witch of the West?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the witch didn't really melt, and she lives right across the street from us. I'm calling it right now, that girl is going to be famous one day.....and then I'll let Buddy ride the coat tails of her fame by releasing this photo. I'm a pretty awesome mother huh? Anyway, in a few short hours it's Mother's Day. So mom, happy Mother's Day, you're welcome for my huge part in your life to make you the woman you are today.....and for giving you some of those grey hairs! You're the best mom a girl could ask for! So all in all a super fantastic, riding the coattails to fame, day!

A beautiful day in the neighborhood.....

It's amazing what you can find on a flashlight walk....
Usually we just find frogs, but tonight we just upped the ante on all future flashlight walks....
We totally lucked out on our destination walk to Tyler's house, because they inherited a little piglet today after I think his dad had a bit of a mishap at his construction site involving mamma pig! Unfortunately for us Ebeneezer Shane wouldn't let us keep him....and I was totally in the mood for bacon! So all in all a super fantastic, we should go to Tyler's house more often, day!

Men.....

I left Shane in charge of getting the boys to and from paddling today....
Errrrr, and this marks the last time Shane will be chauffeuring the boys! So all in all a super fantastic, still can't believe Shane thought this was a good idea, day!

Life in pictures.....

Saturday Buddy's best friend Tyler's mom gave birth to a chunky little boy......she did it AT HOME.....IN A BIRTHING TUB. She posted on Facebook the most hilarious picture of her in the tub with the baby on her chest and sweet little Tyler making the funniest/ most disgusted face! I showed that picture to Buddy and then we had another talk about childbirth (he's well versed in the subject you know). Anyway, we talked ALL ABOUT TUB BIRTHS, I'm sure that is definitely on the second grade curriculum. Today he hopped into a "tub" and told me to take lots of pictures to document his "birthing" experience. Enjoy....

I'm assuming all those pictures are before the contractions hit!

Now we're getting somewhere (I'm guessing 7 cm by the looks of things)!

(He must be pushing, it always feels better to push...maybe you only get the joke if you work in L&D)
Hooray,  the grand finale, holding his imaginary baby! Are all children of nurses  slightly messed up in the head, or is it just mine? So all in all a super fantastic, perhaps too knowledgeable, day!
