Unconventional.....

Buddy decided to shake things up and ring in the New Year a little bit differently this year.....

Of course when I said shake things up, I pretty much meant throw things up.....
Hmmm, wonder if that means that this year will bring him more things in the green and itchy variety? We went to ring in the New Year at a friend's house, starting with a Nerf war and ending with so many fireworks that our snot is black (which I'm pretty sure is the gold standard to measure if there were enough fireworks). I don't usually set New Year's Resolutions, but I am going to try to love more this year...Buddy is going to be in a world of hurt when 2014 is done with him! Heehee! So all in all a super fantastic, Happy New Year, day!

Teamwork.....

The boys have finally finished putting together their 3D printer. Shane is excited  about the endless possibilities, Buddy is excited because he thinks he can finally print out enough pieces to snap together to build the go-cart of his dreams....
They decided to break in their cutting edge technology by making something so avant garde, so unique, so  amazing it will knock your socks off.....
Errrr, hmmm....a Batman cookie cutter.....never mind, keep your socks on! So all in all a super fantastic, one of a kind Batman cookies anyone?, day!

Zippy....

I love it when a plan comes together.....that would be the plan of I sleep while the boys install the zip line....

So all in all a super fantastic, well rested and well zipped day!

How it's done....

We decided to show everyone how things are done here on the big island! Here is how to make your friends that are constantly shoveling snow out of the driveway these days jealous.....
This is how you show everyone that solo synchronized swimming really should be added to the Olympics....
Seriously, look at the height on my boy!
And lastly, this is how to show your mother that she isn't too young to have a heart attack!
In other news, I have (get to) to work tonight.....yay? I'll pretend I'm excited about that! Also, for those inquiring minds, no children were harmed in the making of that video. He cried for a second and then did the trick again....this time without the falling bit (thankfully)! So all in all a super fantastic, writing an instruction manual, day!

Boys!

I think Buddy's play date today got a little out of hand  when both of the boys emerged from Buddy's room with crayons impaled in their arms...

What is it about boys that they want to do the grossest things? Seriously, a million toys around here and the first thing they wanted to do was break open the special effects makeup kit Buddy got from his cousin Damien.....of course who could blame them? It looked awesome, I think they will be attempting to build blisters tomorrow! Also on the gross list, the boys built this out of a contraption set Buddy got in the mail today.....
That's their rendition of a toilet, dispensing drain at the bottom included! Trust me, he was sure to give me all the auditory and visual effects needed to imagine their creation was a toilet! Apparently Buddy needs more fiber because his poo is hard and shaped like balls with the word Keva written on them.....odd!  Thankfully they redeemed themselves by building this....
No worries though, I'm sure given enough time they can figure out a way to defile that too! So all in all a super fantastic, it's good to be a boy (I guess), day!

Slackers?

Buddy got a slack line for Christmas....
Which leads me to believe that between the swing, slack line and soon to be installed zip line, Santa thinks our yard  is really an amusement park! I think I would have to concur.....and I'm loving it. Since Shane had to work all day the installation was left up to me. Thank goodness I totally nailed it....
because this little boy has been slack lining all day. After I showed him some YouTube videos of some slack line  competitions, he upped his game to include lots of jumping around on his line. Somehow he convinced me to join him on the line with him just to "walk" the line. Hmmm, some walk, it was more Earthquake survival 101 with all the bouncing he was doing to jostle me  off!  That's OK, I put him on kitchen duty to teach him a lesson....
Not sure what lesson he learned, since he has recently discovered the peeler and now wants to peel everything like it's a toy, but a lesson nonetheless! In other news, my parents  have joined the 21st century and got an ipad for Christmas so we could FaceTime at the Christmas party! It was AWESOME!!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, playground wonderland, day!

Eve.....

Tomorrow we are expecting that big guy (well, not that one, according to Buddy he's a fake) to drop the mother load at our house because we have been exceptionally good this year!!!!! We got to open one present tonight, one of us may have a very big in with the "big guy".....
That's right a zip line, why pay money when you can fall to your death in your own front yard!!!! Just kidding.....I hope! Don't be too concerned mom,  Santa is sending a seat because Santa is all about safety!!!! I got to open my present from Buddy....
Not sure if you can tell what that is, but it's a survival kit. It has a light, binoculars, a bell so everyone can hear me, a pen so I can write and a Simon game to "survive" the boredom! Buddy made it himself.....very thoughtful, and very sticky from all the tape he used! Now to get someone off to sleep so Santa can get to work that would be fantastic! So all in all a super fantastic, Merry Christmas, day!

Get to work....

While I was at church today, Shane taught Buddy the fine art of making scrambled eggs. Buddy made them for lunch and dinner....
I foresee the need to invest in a chicken farm in our future! By the way, he was so committed to his job he wouldn't even look up for a second for me to take a picture. In other, other news, we've been working on a Rube Goldberg machine.....hopefully we'll work the kinks out to post a video tomorrow. So all in all a super fantastic, thinking we need to expand our menu selection already, day!

HI....larious.....

First and foremost, my dad posted A TON of family pictures today on Facebook, including the infamous pigeon toe picture....
I don't know about you all, but I think I'm freaking adorable....
Good thing I went through a wonderful thing called puberty to take me down a few notches.....or many notches as the case may be! In other news, Buddy had a sleepover and I am happy to report I have some creative geniuses on my hands....

Those are "arcade" style games the boys entertained themselves with for several hours. It didn't hurt that yesterday Buddy got a package in the mail yesterday from his papaw with a bunch of foreign coins that they rolled down the course....FYI,  foreign currency makes everything way cooler, don't you think? Then the boys decided to build a gingerbread house...
Par for the Beeder clan course, the house immediately imploded....which just meant the boys got to eat it, which is basically the best part of making a gingerbread house anyway! Then they banded together and built a part for Shane's 3-D printer....
They weren't at all excited! FYI- Buddy has grand plans to make a go-cart.....one minuscule piece at a time! I tell you these boys are geniuses....
Ummmm, what was I saying?
Oh yes, I remember, I was bragging about the geniuses at my house! Buddy has had one very exciting day, so much so that he has been singing and whistling ALL DAY. So much in fact that Shane had to ask him to finally stop because there is only so much high pitched whistling that ears can take...and I'm pretty sure ours are at the breaking point (in Shane's defense it is 10:30 at night, and in Buddy's defense he still hasn't stopped! Ha)! So all in all a super fantastic, not whistling dixie, just Christmas carols, day!

Space Derby....

Some aliens were invading our house the other day.....
Thank goodness we had a Space Derby for Pack night so we could  evict them ....
During the eviction process the boys revealed to everyone that they are really full of hot air!

Trust me, one of those boys was full of something a little more potent than just hot air! (Trust me any aliens in a 20 mile radius were exterminated, as well as all olfactory senses for those humans remaining in an upright position after the toxic gas was released). The boys also made stomp rockets out of straws and Koolaid squeeze bottles, and had a capture the planet Nerf gun war. Then, to top it all off, we  had a white elephant Christmas present exchange! I'm slightly pooped! One of the boys told me this was the "best Christmas ever!" Ha! I don't know if I'd say best, but I'll put it in the top 2! So all in all a super fantastic, alien exterminating, day!

A good education!

Today Buddy went on a field trip to.......THE BEACH! I know, such an unusual and unexpected field trip (we go on a field trip to the beach at least 2 times every school year, I'm not complaining, just making a statement). Today the kids were suppose to be learning about tide pools, but why learn about tide pools when you can learn swagger instead.....

Pretty sure these kids are getting an A+, added bonus, while we were goofing around  studying tide pools, the kids found an awesome cave to have lunch in....
Yep, definitely A + material here! So all in all a super fantastic, studying hard, day!

Getting into to spirit!

I'm finally out of my sick and comatose state....just in time to work a night shift and re-enter a comatose state for a little while longer! Saturday we went to go hang out with a really popular guy...
I'm pretty certain we left an impression....
Well, at least one of us won't probably won't get coal in their stocking....
Ahhh, who am I kidding, it's coal for the whole lot of us!
So all in all a super fantastic, getting in the spirit, day!

Under the weather.....

I've been pretty sick for the last week or so. Thank goodness I have a good nurse to suggest some ocean therapy for me.....
FYI-as much as I'd like to pretend it helped, it really didn't! Also, I'm pretty sure it was just a ruse from my "nurse" to get out of the house and avoid his homework. While I've been "laid up" Buddy has been tolerating my multiple childhood stories, one including getting yelled at for pretending to have pigeon-toes....until the "yeller" looked at a few pictures lying around the house and realized I probably wasn't pretending. Buddy actually got a giggle out of my personal anguish (just kidding, I don't need therapy, well, perhaps some physical therapy, but I'm good). We've done a reenactment for your viewing pleasure, because nothing is better than a reenactment!
I'm not sure how he does it, but I think the Budster pulls the look off well (of course, once again, I'll admit my personal bias on this).....
Now if only I could find one of my classic pigeon-toed classic pictures we'd be set! In other, other news, here is one of the latest pictures from the family party over Thanksgiving with Buddy and Shane's parents....

All the pictures turned out super cute, which makes me want to run out and buy $5,000 worth of camera equipment so I can replicate the results at any time!......I wish I were actually joking! So all in all a super fantastic, biased, day!

He's #1....

Yesterday my sister-in-law emailed us some pictures we had taken at a family party. When I saw them, all I could think was.....I HAVE THE BEST KID EVER!!!!!!!!

Holy crap,  that kid is a hilarious keeper! I know I'm biased, but I've seen these pictures at least 20 times and I'm still laughing at his face (wait, a mom is totally allowed to say that, right?). In other news, Buddy has been begging for a few months now to have Skyler over for a play date. Today was the day.....
She sits right next to him in class and according to Buddy, "she loves homework and can complete a math test in less than a minute". Hmmmm, maybe she should be over more often! So all in all a super fantastic, love my kid, day!
