LOOKOUT!!!!!

I took Buddy and 2 of his favorite cohorts to Pololu'u Valley.....Buddy apparently has a different perception of lookout than possibly the rest of us!
We made it down without anyone actually falling to their death.....

Yet.....
The kids decided to play around on the swings for a while....

Also, when I say kids, I basically mean me...
Also, seriously, did anyone know Buddy could climb a rope like this?
Holy bananas....I never knew I gave birth to a monkey....oh wait....I think I did! So all in all a super fantastic, looking out,

 day!

Mind games....

This morning Buddy hopped right on his computer as soon as he woke up. Since I'm such a nice mom and I'm totally okay with endless hours of computer time, I wrote up a list of chores he needed to do around the house, showed it to him and then asked if he wanted to go on a huge bike ride down to the beach. Here is your answer....

All said and done, he had a fantastic time, even if I did separate him from his one true love (the computer)!
We're planning on hiking Pololu'u Valley tomorrow with some of his friends that happen to be girls (not to be confused with girl friends). When I texted one of the mothers tonight to see if her daughter could come, she mentioned it was her daughter's birthday tomorrow....which means we had to prank her house tonight (we're really nice that way)...
The sign says Happy Birthday Zoe, we hope it doesn't suck. Then we stuck all the lollipops that the local grocery store had (small store so only about 100) in her front lawn. I really need to invest in some lawn flamingos for my pranking, but maybe that's just me and a crazy dream I have! Anyway, hopefully she'll see it in the morning before the ants or feral cats....or kids eat them all! Ha! So all in all a super fantastic, good thing Buddy's desire for avoidance to chores is greater than his desire to avoid long bike rides, day!

Decent Exposure....

Since I let the boys just sit around all day and play with toys yesterday (it was the least I could do since it was Christmas afterall), I decided we should expose ourselves to some sunlight.....
 Then to our canopy....
Then to our friendly neighborhood chickens....
Actually, that chicken wasn't that friendly....but she sure was cute! Lastly, we exposed ourselves to a bike ride.
So all in all a super fantastic, we should do that some more, day!

Not panned out....

Buddy's Christmas break started last Thursday and things aren't panning out quite like I expected them to.  Like a good mother, I ordered some educational crafts for Buddy to do over his 3 week vacation. Let's just say they weren't cheap and I was expecting him to take most of the week creating each of the 3 projects I purchased.  There was a wind up flashlight to build.....

 A light-up speaker.....
And the coolest of all, a laser....

Yeah, that's my hand with a laser show on it. As you  can tell it didn't take 3 weeks....more like 3 hours, on Thursday night, so it wasn't even technically a vacation day!
Then there was our traditional elf pranking.....

The kids did this prank for an 8 year old boy that we're friends with his mom. They completely filled the van with balloons and placed the elf in one of the balloons with help me written on it. The van was then gift wrapped with a note saying that it was from Scout (the name of the elf's) enemies. Last year this kid loved our prank, this year, not sure if it was the enemy part or what....but he was pretty afraid and refused to go into the van with the balloons until his parents pushed him in! At least we got to prank Buddy's friend....

Thankfully, she was a super sport about the complete room wrap job we did! Buddy of course made sure to remind me to not forget him in the pranking.....he reminds me every year, does this kid not know me at all.....This was his Christmas surprise....

That's stars and snowflakes above his bed with balloons blocking his exit. Thank goodness there was no emergency last night impeding his exit! Friday, I took the boy surfing.....it was super windy, so after 15 minutes of hard paddling to just stay in one spot, we decided to call it quits. Thankfully, the boys had  a good reprieve...
Or at least, our family was given a "sparkling" new year gift while we were at the beach! Once again, yes, he drank the whole thing, the little stinker!
Lastly, in our best laid plans that didn't pan out, my sister was supposed to come visit us for Christmas. So we had to improvise a visit. We sure know how to show people a good time. We took the crew sledding....

Built a snowman with them....they weren't very helpful, truth be told....
Then we had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with them....there was a little fight over the turkey leg, but Buddy ended up winning out....
This morning, being Christmas and all, we treated them with  a climb up the coconut tree to get some fresh coconuts.....
Donna, I'm sure, thought is was the best coconut EVER...at least I assume she would if she WERE ACTUALLY HERE! Not sure where else our vacation will lead us, but I think we have 20 more days left to figure it out.....I'm hopeful we will figure something out by then! So all in all a super fantastic, counting down the days, day!

It's a shame....

You know, it's just a crying shame that no one in my family seems to have a sense of humor! I mean, I politely emailed my parents requesting them to simply take a picture of my mom for a centerpiece I was working on for a Christmas song themed centerpiece I was working on, and this is the lame picture I got in response......
I hope you enlarged that picture, because IT IS FANTASTIC!!!! Above and beyond my wildest expectations! I love this cutout so much I may or may not have taken multiple selfies to commemorate the occasion!

Anyway, back to no one having a sense of humor in my family.....here is another case in point.... I mean really, of all the Christmas songs out there, this is what the boy comes up with?

If you've been living under a rock, that would be "Grandma got run over by a reindeer". Personally, I think the personalized licence plate gives it a little something!
We ended up winning, I think we owe it to this lady....
Seriously, cockeyed glasses, shirt blowing in the wind....and here I thought we inherited our sense of humor just from my dad! In other news, some of us went surfing today.....others of us sat on the beach and tried to take pictures!
So all in all a super fantastic, I'm so glad I don't come from a boring family, day!
