Destiny....

My husband is a nerd....don't get me wrong, I'm not using that word in a derogatory way at all. It comes in extremely handy when things need fixed or I need a math questioned answered quickly ( you wouldn't believe how often that actually comes up around here). Part of the nerdiness includes a whole realm of video gaming. Since Shane lives in the same house as Buddy, some of that nerdiness was bound to rub off on him. Thus, this years Halloween costumes...

I tried to warn Buddy we were going to bake to death here with these extremely warm costumes....he didn't care, he wanted to look cool like the characters in the video game (Shane is Heavy, the 3rd character pictured. I'm Medic, the 4th in the picture below, and Buddy is the 5th character, Pyro)....
He looked cool, but it was sweltering hot today! So about 2 minutes into our trick-or-treating Buddy's costume became stinky tired sanitation worker because he unzipped that jumpsuit as far as he thought he could get away with and relinquished his mask, boots and weapons to me! My costume turns out was just a formality because we all know deep down I'm just the pack mule! We had a blast, and Buddy requested a cooler (as in temperature) costume for next year....I'm so hoping he sticks to it, because sticking to my costume wasn't the greatest event of the night! So all in all a super fantastic, sweltering hot, day!

Dancing....

Ever put on something that just makes you feel like dancing......

Yep, it was one of those days....

So all in all a super fantastic, Buddy requested I match him today....because awesomeness is always better when multiplied, day!

Brrrr...thday Party!

When we were in Kona yesterday picking up all of our supplies for Buddy's party, he found himself a present...which was pretty fantastic, seeing how I actually didn't buy him one this year.  Anyway, he loved his hat soooo much he slept in it.....
All night long!!! He was so happy he actually woke up for school this morning (translation, way too freaking early in the morning) looking like this...
Thankfully, today's spirit week theme at school was Throwback Thursday....
He threw it way back! He threw it so well, that a family (with multiple children, to make this a little less creepy) followed him home so they could take a picture of him! He, of course, gobbled it all up! After he got home from school he changed into his camouflage to prepare for the coming war AKA birthday party.....
Pretty certain the camouflage is what gave his team the winning edge...

Well, it was that, or the fact that Buddy refused to let go of that dang bazooka (we did have two, but a kid broke it while pumping it somehow)...

Since I'm an awesome mom, I decided that since I was going to return the kids to their parents all mucky, I should probably hop them up on a ton of sugar to make up for it.......

There was actually an evil laugh in my head when I typed that last bit!!!! I'd say it was a job well done...or at least a job done!
So all in all a super fantastic, if only he would do his homework instead of getting distracted, day!

Lots of spirit!!!!

Buddy went to school today and actually got to stay for the whole day!!! Of course the fact that today was a short day was just a bonus. Also a bonus, Western day at school....
An even further bonus, the fact that Cowboys apparently wear what we like to call slippahs (OK, not really, I haven't started speaking pidgin...yet). In other news, my favorite boy turns 11 tomorrow and we have a party to plan!!! A party that apparently includes lots of flour...
A little bit of color...

Some forts (we're using our imagination with this one, just go with it)....
And a huge ole' mess...
It only 3 hours of stuffing our snowballs until I turned into a blithering mess...
It only took 20 minutes until Buddy was a blithering goober...
That is, it only took 20 minutes to put this little dandy together!

We made two for the party...and Buddy is beyond excited...if you can't tell! So all in all a super fantastic, ready to party, day!

Best Nurse EVER!!!!

I sent Buddy to school today, 20 minutes later the school sent him back . Apparently,  teachers don't look kindly on children that haven't mastered the art of covering their mouths when they have a hacking cough for 20 minutes straight! Silly teachers!!! Today we watched television and after a few hours, Buddy told me that I wasn't paying enough attention to him. Of course I wasn't, because watching a kid watching TV rates right up there with watching paint dry. So we cuddled in bed and looked at our old blog books. BEST BOOKS EVER!!!!!! Of course I am completely biased, but Buddy agrees, and that's gotta be something! In other news, here's a new little something Buddy has been working on this week...
So all in all a super fantastic, sending sick kids to school is apparently not cool, day!

Whoops....

Buddy's been sick and missed the last three days of school. Today was a field trip that he's been looking forward to for the last 5 years, yep half of Buddy's life has been looking forward to today. No Pressure or anything to get better. Buddy woke up with his hacky cough and began crying about missing out on the field trip of all field trips!!!! So I did want any normal mother would do, I loaded  my kid up with every medication I could possibly find...herbal included. The results are astounding....
Then I checked Buddy out of school for the rest of the day like a good mama....I mean, I would feel bad getting anyone sick!!!!! Errrr, is this the part where I hang my head in embarrassment??? Should we look at this again...

In other news, I should not be trusted with Photoshop. I made this picture so I could post it on Facebook, since the school is getting really strict on kids in the photos (there was a kid in the group that I don't know, thus, I was afraid of getting in trouble for breaking the rules like I normally do...I know, I'm a rebel).... Anyway, I blurred the picture real good.....then I realized I didn't save the picture in it's original format to keep....
Errrr, whoops. Like super mega whoops...it was a really good picture and it even has Buddy's teacher in it....I guess that's why I'm not a professional photographer (well, that and like 3 million more reasons). So all in all a super fantastic, don't know what I'm doing, day!

Germy....

Buddy is still sick and the dolphin swimming is still Friday....
So all in all a super fantastic, seriously need to hurry and get better, day!

Mother of the year....again!!!!

Buddy has been coughing for the last two days...compliments of camping in a cold/rainy environment I would guess. I would like to pretend that normally I would send my kid to school with just a simple cough, but he has a field trip to swim with the dolphins on Friday. Yep, you read that right, he HAS A FIELD TRIP TO SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS!!!!! Anyway, I let him stay home and sleep and rest so he can get better for his dolphin swimming...at least that's what the post night shift sleep deprived me is saying anyway. In other news, we've needed a few extra hands around the house with all of  housework I've been doing around here. Thank goodness I have a connection to get me at least one...

So all in all a super fantastic, I think I'm going to need more hands than that Buddy, day!

All grown up....

Somehow I was finagled into being the medic for the Cuboree Overnighter Campout this past weekend. Part of the package deal was bringing Buddy along. Somehow he got finagled into calling the colors, leading the Pledge of Allegiance and saying the opening devotional...
He also got roped into running a booth....
According to him, he taught the "little baby cubs" how to make stomp rockets. He was bragging to his friends when we got back to town about how he had to help teach those "poor little babies"....he must have forgotten that most of those babies were less than a year younger than him, but whatever, he's totally cool! Seriously, just ask him! Also in super cool news, when I wasn't in the medic office, Buddy ended up treating some of his fellow scouters minor injuries (and correctly I must add). Not sure if he was treating me here, or mistreating me...
In other news, I got a very awesome shirt in the mail a few days ago...
In other, other news, is it totally awkward that I not only forced Buddy to kiss me, but the skeleton to kiss me as well?
Oh well, I thrive on awkward! So all in all a super fantastic, growing up too fast, day!

Lurker....

I woke up with this thing next to me the other morning....
Then  this thing started following me in the pool, well, not so much as following as absconding my pool toys....
I guess there are worse things to be stuck with....
Just kidding, it's all super awesome!!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, can't get enough of this kid, day!
