Hitchhiker....

I went for a long ride today, I kept feeling like someone was following me. Where I turned, he turned. When I stopped, he stopped. When I went fast, he said "wheeeeeee do it again mom"!

(By the way, he totally came up with this pose all on his own, I'm thinking Sears catalog shoot may be calling his name)
All in all a super fantastic Memorial Day, we are thankful to live in such a great country where many have given so much for our freedom!

Heaven...

I believe it looks a little something like this...

Buddy woke up at 0640 this morning crying wondering where his girlfriend was. Seriously? Then of course he reminded me that we were going to get up early and go back to This Is The Place before I had to go home and take a nap before work tonight. We had a great time, and now most of the volunteers know him by name, I'm sure it has something to do with how shy he is and how he contains his excitement at all times! So all in all a very super fantastic day, now if someone could find out where his girlfriend from the car show went that would be great!

Independence....

After growing up in the south, I've tried to steer clear of all things country. I have never liked the southern accent (OK, it's cute on some girls) and I would never intentionally listen to country music, matter of fact in high school I had a friend that was very alternative at the time and while everyone else was listening to country, I was listening to Depeche Mode, The Smiths and UB40. Yet somehow my aversions have not spanned to the next generation. Buddy has gained some independent thinking and has gotten into a country kick, he has been wearing his cowboy boots and hat everywhere he goes for the last few weeks. Now he has picked up listening to country music and dancing to it, and thanks to my parents he has picked up saying ya'll. Today we went to This Is The Place, and oh how it was quite the place for Buddy. OK, seriously, I know I'm biased, but how cute is my country bumpkin...

Oh, by the way they have a train there, actually they have three, needless to say my good ole' country boy was in heaven!

So all in all a super fantastically country day, ya'll come back now, ya hear!

Weight Watchers...

So it appears that someone is paying close attention to my weight, at least that's what he said as he lovingly told me that I "gained some weight(he's patting my belly at this point) and we need to go to the gym straight away". OK, so the gym happens to have an indoor enormous play land, but do you think he was telling me something? Maybe he's still mad about me insisting yesterday that girls have vagina's not penises? According to Buddy he knows the difference, he just likes to say penis (him and every other boy in the world). We did get one of these today...

Which was enough for me to win the love and affection of a random teenager walking down the street (Note to teenage Buddy: someone said I was a really cool mom).
So all in all a super fantastically fat day!

Loch Ness Monster....

There has been a sighting....
Today Shane went to Buddy's school to talk about being a helicopter pilot. I won't say who, but someone thinks that their dad is pretty darn cool! Hopefully that continues through the teenage years.
All in all a super fantastic family day!

Boot scootin'

Yesterday Shane bought Buddy a cowboy hat. Buddy loves that hat, he loves it so much he slept with it on his belly like a true cowboy. Today he got the boots, hopefully he doesn't think a real cowboy sleeps with his boots on or we may need to buy new sheets and possibly mattress in the morning!
All in all a super fantastic cowboy kinda day!

Eye opener?

So Buddy has many talents, but did you know he was a professional eye opener?

That's right, a trained eye opener for those suffering from: close your eyes with any sort of flash syndrome! Mine was a steal for just 35 dollars down (we won't mention the monthly payment plan!
So all in all a super fantastic eye opening day!

Awakenings...

I've been working the last few nights, so I've been sleeping while Buddy has been hanging with the grandparents. I'm just wondering whose brilliant idea it was to put this...

Right outside my bedroom window? That's right a full electric train with lights and (let me assure you some very realistic) noises!
So all in all a super fantastic, pretending to be sleeping, day!

Paul Bunyan...

Is this how Paul Bunyan started? A helping hand from his grandpa, wielding small sharp objects and a reckless abandonment of safety? Should I insert a joke about Papaw being the big ox here? Just wondering.
All in all a super fantastic, "get to work tonight", day!

Dear dad...

Buddy has taken his job as man of the house/protector seriously! He also told me that he loved me so much he could cry, and then proceeded into a 3 minute stint of fake crying (I'm still waiting to see what his demands are for that comment), but maybe he's just making up for telling me my armpits stink?
So all in all a super fantastic day!

Sasquatch...

The elusive big foot, always on the run...

But every once in a while, you get lucky...

Sometimes you get really lucky...

Of course, those times usually include a head light in the form of a lego man and balls, but I'm no expert!
All in all a super fantastic, birthday party celebrating, day!

Book Editor...

Did you know it was National Children's Book Week? Yeah, me neither until we made our weekly pit stop at the library. In honor of Children's Book Week, Buddy has selected a few books right up his alley. Seriously, I have read these book numerous times, all filled with constant giggles (we're always looking for more funny books so let us know of any good recommendations).
TUESDAY a picture book that Buddy makes me read "like it has words"
NO JUMPING ON THE BED, because what little boy doesn't do that (although I must admit it would make me weary of apartment living since everyone and everything keeps crashing down)
FARLEY FARTS, really, need I say more?
By the way, I just went to go check on Buddy because I heard what I thought was crying coming from his bedroom, nope not crying, just a little of this...

With a bunch of giggling!
So all in all a super fantastic, someone really needs to go to bed, day!

Word to your motha....

Since today is Mother's Day I wanted to mention two fantastic mothers in my life. First up, my sister. She is amazing! She has seven kids that she actually spends time with and raises (I'm only saying this part because of how people perceive people with large families and how the older siblings take care of the younger). She enriches their lives and helps them with their goals and strengths, ranging from choir practice to gymnastics, soccer to drama club, she helps her kids grow, and she still has time to cook dinner. OK, I've glamorized her a bit, and I'm sure she would protest that things don't always run like clockwork, but you should see her in action, she is such a great mother, you can seriously feel the love when she's talking to her kids. She is selfless like no other person I have met, and did I mention she breastfed Buddy when I couldn't and he couldn't tolerate anything else (he lost a pound in a week when he was barely a month old)? I love her kids, they are all really good kids, which in today's world is saying something!

(Photo by Opie Foto by the way, I think she is super fantastic!)
Next up, my own mother, without I wouldn't be here, which I think is a big deal! Those who work with me know all about my mother and frequently snicker at my sack lunches. That's right, you read correctly, I am a proud member of the I AM 37 YEARS OLD AND MY MOTHER STILL MAKES ME LUNCHES club! I love my momma, she has been a shoulder to cry on and pillar of support (did I mention I might possibly starve to death without her)?

Then I wanted to say how blessed I am to have Buddy in my life. He is a kindred spirit in so many ways-seriously, just look at the faces. He frequently tells me how he came to earth so I wouldn't be sad (really could he be any cuter?). I am so lucky to have him in my life and to be blessed to be a mother and all the fabulous and sometimes not so glamorous things that it entails!
So all in all a super fantastic Mother's Day!

Smooth Operator...

So today while I was on call for work, the boys went to the car show, which I believe explains why we have all of these....

Needless to say, the boys had a good time, and Buddy came back with a new girlfriend and tales of getting kissed. I would wonder where he got it from, but then again I have a very intimate knowledge of his father!
All in all a super fantastic boys day out!

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot...

I actually cooked today, I think it might have been a little spicy...

Hmmm, I wonder if it was a bad sign that Buddy had tears in his eyes while he was eating his Adirondack burger?
In other news, we found a magic box from when Shane was little(r)...

Buddy has become quite the magician, inviting Mamaw and Papaw over for a show, with a repeat performance the next day for his class at school. He actually woke up at 6am asking it was time for school (thank goodness I was already up to go to work or I probably wouldn't have thought it was so cute). Gee, I wonder if he likes to be the center of attention? Nah, that's just a crazy idea, Buddy is just way too shy for that! Heehee!
So all in all a super fantastically spicy day!

Saving lives and taking numbers...

OK, so it was an earthworm, but we totally revived this thing. Thank goodness for my nursing degree in advanced hydration and dirt piling!
All in all a super fantastic, we need to go to bed day!
