Warning.....I'm a braggart, but it's my blog and I'll do what I want to!

Brace yourself for a very long post shouting out my adoration and praises of my little Budster! Not your thing? Errrr.....have you ever even read this blog before, that's basically all I do! I've missed quite a bit of blogging....my excuse, my mother-in-law was visiting me while I was on my period! I am currently patting myself on the back because we ALL survived! Drum roll please, now let the adoration begin! I'll start with last night. Yesterday, Shane and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. Usually when I think of an anniversary, I like to think of flowers, a romantic dinner out....instead, ours was filled with taking the in-laws to the airport and a Boy Scout meeting....both rate highly on my romantic scale!!!! Ha! Anyway, when Buddy and I returned from our Scout meeting I started making dinner, he quickly banished Shane and I to our room. Honestly I wasn't sure what was going on because he was taking a really, really long time (I was also really hungry so my time perception may have been a little skewed). When he finally knocked on the door to retrieve us, all the lights were out and he was wearing a suit. Shane and I decided we should get gussied up too....
Then Buddy led us to the table (we had to keep our eyes closed), and he proceeded to wait on us hand and foot....

It was soooo stinking adorable. He even rolled the silverware in papertowels and then made napkin rings with rubber bands....cause he's still a boy! He'd go sit in a corner away from us and then kept coming over to replenish our water and food. I'm not sure what I did to deserve a Buddy in my life, but it must have been something extraordinary, because it was the sweetest gesture!!!! In other news, Buddy was selected as one of a handful of students in his Middle School to be a peer mediator. This week he completed his 12 hour training course so he can mediate (basically, if 2 (or more) kids are having issues with each other, Buddy will sit down with them (a teacher will be nearby) and help them talk it out to resolve their issues). Apparently, Buddy got nominated by all of his teachers to fill this role (sure beats last year, I won't mention what the school counselor thought of him during his month long hiatus from school for being sick)! In other, other news Buddy attended a Hiki No meeting, which is a statewide program where schools in the state work with PBS to produce little clips to air. I'm not sure his school is going to do it because only 3 kids from his school attended, but I sure hope they do because the boy has already been rattling off what he would like to produce! In other, other news, Shane got a welder....which means Shane got a welder's mask....which really means Buddy got a welder's mask....
Thankfully, Buddy is putting it to good use? In other, other, other, news, the skeleton has come out of the closet (technically, the attic). We've all been taking turns moving her around......Buddy moreso than others since he's admitted to being freaked out by her and refuses to stay in the same room as her unless one of us is with him, except for bedtime, she is not welcome in the room at all!! Hahaha!!!!

In other more extensive, other news, I've been taking ballet, which Buddy loves telling all of his friends so they can get a good chuckle! My practice outfit finally came in the mail last week, so I of course had to practice, thankfully, Buddy was graceful enough to be my bar and my accompaniment!
Well, graceful may be a strong word for the emotion he was emitting!
So all in all a super fantastic, love my boy, even if he is embarrassed by my awesome ballet skills, day!

Explosions!!!!

About two weeks ago I asked Shane to take a look at my phone because there was something screwy with the sound. Shane the "Jack of All Trades" took my phone apart to look at it. I'm not sure what happened entirely.....but I do know that my phone, shortly after my hand off to Shane, exploded! To say I was upset was an understatement, mostly because I thought I lost these gems....

Speaking of gems....or gyms, the Budster has been on a workout kick. His BFF is hiking the Grand Canyon next summer and Buddy has taken it upon himself to be his personal trainer! Now he's taken over being mine!
In other news, the boy had a group project for one of his classes. They outvoted him and decided to make a game (he really wanted to make a claymation movie), so a game was created! He did fantastic (I'd like to say the group did, but I was present at their "work" meetings and saw who did the work)! Luckily, we had a game that we never ever played (it was given to us and looked kind of babyish), so he repurposed the whole thing! Including covering the box with contact paper and painting the game board....

The requirement was to create a game where you would be able to understand the book if you played it, so he made a game scrambled from Monopoly, Exploding Kittens, and The Oregon Trail.....

Complete with supply cards that could save your life! He even went so far to run around the house taking pictures of  life saving supplies!
He even had Shane 3 D print a dog pound and characters from the book for the game!
He did awesome, and it takes forever to play the game because you get so many set backs.....which he didn't do on purpose, but it totally fits the book since the main character has a bazillion set backs!!!
Also, in other news, it's been so long since I've blogged I'm not sure if I included the preview of the costume I've been working on!
If you think that's awesome, just wait to you see Shane and his Road Runner feather boas!!! Haha! That's what he gets for letting me always be in charge of his Halloween costume! So all in all a super fantastic, phone working again hip hip hooray, day!
