Lego Mania, and the ridiculously long post.....

So today, I threw a party for my primary class for being somewhat good in class for the last 4 months. When one of the mom's was leaving, she asked Shane if he liked throwing parties as much as I do. His response, "nope, if it were up to me, we'd have cake and sing a song and then everyone would go home". Of course then he returned to his important job of looking at flashlights online....honestly, when the zombie apocalypse comes we may not have food, or weapons,  but at least we'll be able to see! Anyway, back to the Lego mass hysteria, let's begin. First up, no good party is good without an explosion of awesomeness...

Here's my last minute booyah moment, I found these medals in the closet from Buddy's birthday party last year and decided to make a Lego Master/CTR medallion. Buddy liked them so much, he wore two. If I did it all over again, I would've made them a lot better, but hey, 7 and 8 year olds aren't too persnickety (thank goodness).

Our treat boxes, filled with CTR bracelets and candy Lego's!

Yes, I know that the mustache glasses don't really fit, but Buddy really wanted them at the party, and I'll never refuse a funny prop!

Pretty sure that the guys from the Lego company love me, if not, they totally should since I'm contributing to the obsession of minors!  Next up, the awesomeness.First up, building a race car, ...

Well, that is after goofing around!

The goofing around is a definite necessity to any Beeder household party!
Then of course we had to race our cars, duh!!!!

Then we raced some Legos with a spoon, cause seriously, why wouldn't you. Of course, my boy did it with flair in true Buddy style (perhaps he was afraid of the wind whipping around his hair)....

Then we revamped the good ole' trusty throwing Cheetos game to throwing candy Lego's onto shower cap shaving cream heads....

From the smiles on their faces, I'm thinking they approved. Then we went back to the house to save some Lego men....

Did I forget to mention that the Lego men somehow got buried in Jell-O? Heehee! Also a huge hit, I think I'll just have buried objects in Jell-o all the time, just for the fun of it! Then inside for some more Lego building.....
Out of candy, then of course out of those boring plastic thingys....
First we did a competition of building the tallest tower in 90 seconds, then we made a bridge that had to support the weight of an egg...

Thankfully, for the floor below, all of them built sturdy enough structures....such smarty pants. Lastly, we had a Lego toss....
I hate to brag, but one of my kids I think, is headed straight for the Major Leagues! Of course afterwards we pigged out on pizza and the kids ate more marshmallow Lego men than I thought humanly possible...
That is,  after the boys performed a puppet show with them. Poor Lego men heads, they all met an untimely, slightly horrific fate....that being in the belly of a kid! Now Buddy is relaxing after such a stressful party, of course it's always funner to relax with a friend....
So that's it in a nutshell, Shane laid down after the last kids left (well, except for Buddy and Andrew, Andrew is sleeping over, and Buddy has promised to live with me until he's well out of college)! Shane said he was exhausted. Who knew flashlight shopping would wear you out so much! It was fantastic fun, perhaps we'll do it in a few more months if the boys keep doing well. Next time I think we'll do it at the church though, Shane was really super stressed out, which makes both of us laugh since he didn't do anything (he even admitted it, what a trooper for putting up with it all)! Such a funny guy! So all in all a super fantastic, hopped up on sugar and fun, day!

Seriously.....

Buddy may not take school, soccer, church, politics, etc. seriously. But when it comes to his teeth....
We're talking two mirrors simultaneously  serious! In other news, the LEGO party is tomorrow, I'm wondering if it's a bad sign that I'm already feeling tired and the party hasn't even started yet. Tomorrow should be exciting and I believe I should have placed stock in the LEGO company before I started my party planning. So all in all a super fantastic, orally hygienic, day!

Love notes....

A couple of nights ago, Shane and I snuck into Buddy's room to make sure he wasn't staying awake all night reading. The cute little thing he is, had fallen asleep (thankfully), and left this little note by his bed.....
I'm thinking we may have struggles with school and whining, but we've got this love thing down pat. In other news I've been burying Lego men under 256 oz of Jell-O. I think I should just leave it at that! So all in all a super fantastically, loving, day!

Recycled Awesomeness....

A while ago I bought some dark curtains for my room to help me sleep, since the sun seriously has it out for me, and thinks I should wake up everyday at 6 am. Trust me, my body does not agree to that in the slightest,  especially after a night shift!!! Anyway, I got some new black out curtains for my room, and thought the old ones would go fantastically here....
Buddy loves his new "dark room" and then proceeded to complete ALL of his homework WITHOUT WHINING!!!!!

I do believe there may be a forecast for flying pigs tonight. As for us, we're going to be cuddled up in the dark room reading some books, cause we're awesome like that. Hopefully, Buddy won't be up reading until 11pm like he was last night. Seriously, I'm all for the love of books, but having to ban your kid from reading after dark seems a little awkward! But I guess we do do awkward well....
Did you catch I typed do do....... So all in all a very super fantastic, do doing, day!!!

Party!!!!!

Today we went to a birthday party to celebrate Thing 1 and Thing 2....
While we were there, Buddy got to hang out with his newest best friend.....
Look familiar....
Small world.....Ok, small island, although to be honest, Buddy has played with him several times before, but every time we see him he asks if we remember him. Funny, I should start telling him how unforgettable he is(although it probably has to do with Buddy's inability to remember anyone's names, but he never forgets a fantastic playmate's face)! So all in all a super fantastic, partying it up, day!

Camera man.....

Buddy had another soccer game today, and I'm walking away with two things. First, Shane is a much better photographer than me (seriously,I'm so off that I'm totally rethinking my infertility may have to do with my unfortunate sense of timing)....

Second, how high do Buddy's pants go?

Maybe you can't tell from the pictures, but I'm pretty sure his armpits got really warm today from all the layers he was wearing right up next to them. Buddy's team won (of course we weren't keeping score) and then, if that weren't awesome enough, Buddy got to hang out with this thing afterwards....

Shane has now convinced Buddy to grow up to be really rich so he can....not give back to the community....but buy a huge lot of land and a tank so he can just drive it around all day. Lofty goals I say! So all in all a super fantastic, perfect timing, day!

Now for some updated news..... Shane and I just finished playing a game of math blasters with Buddy and it's too good of a game not to share. Bonus, Buddy invented the game which totally makes him a genius! So using our nice little marshmallow shooters....
You shoot at your target, aiming for points....we did 20 for pink, 5 for blue and 1 for yellow...

Buddy kept score (and refereed the trash talk)....
First one to one hundred won....it seems Shane is not only a better photographer, but also better at blowing hot air (but I already knew that one)! I'm so happy Buddy loved this game so much, for a whiner of all things math, this was right up his alley. I think next time we play we'll add in subtracting points for hitting the wall.....pretty sure my number will be in the negatives. I'll just pretend my lack of aiming skills are just in place for the selfless task of helping Buddy with math. I'm sure that excuse will totally fly with Shane! So all in all a super fantastic, joining the mathletes, day, again!
