Screen Actors Guild....

Yesterday, while Buddy was suppose to be cleaning the upstairs, while I cleaned the downstairs, he got a little side tracked working on this project.....
He did about 10 different versions, all of course with the same ending! Then he came downstairs and told me that he really ought to be in the movies.....like I haven't known that for years! So all in all a super fantastic, honing our procrastination and our acting skills, day!

Wild Goose Chase....

Buddy had the day off of school today, also known as the best excuse ever for going on a wild goose chase with a few boys...

Thank goodness the boys were smart enough to arm themselves for the "chase"....

Seriously, what is it with boys where EVERY SINGLE STICK immediately becomes a weapon? Anyway, back to the chase. The boys got side tracked a few times....
Or more like a million times, but do I need to remind you of this awesome stick?
I mean, come on now, how often do you find bazooka sized stick guns.....other than all the time????!!! Finally the boys found their prey....unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for the goose) they were more afraid of the goose than the goose was afraid of them.

I cannot confirm or deny that those boys were bribed to get close enough to the goose for a picture! So all in all a super fantastic, one wild goose down, errrr, not sure of the wild goose population on the Big Island so we'll just say multiple geese to go, day!

So wrong it's gotta be right....

Buddy was taking pictures of himself on my phone again.....I think there may be something wrong with him....
Ahhhh, who am I kidding, I think he is just right!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, drooling like a goober, day!

Busted....

I sent Buddy to school sick today, Buddy turned himself into the school nurse at recess to be evaluated. She asked him if his parents knew that if he was sick. He of course outed us and said that we knew (what can I say, they only get a few sick days and we have family coming to visit us), then she asked him why in the world his parents would send him to school sick! Gah!!!! My perfect parenting record is busted....again. In other news, while rifling through my phone photos I found this gem....
You are welcome! So all in all a super fantastic, busted, day!

Awesome Sauces....

Today I took my two favorite spicy sauce mixes for a walk today....
They returned just in time to be paired well with our dinner burritos! In other news, to prove to everyone that our Spring Break wasn't a complete bust, I have photo documentation. First, Buddy had his first meeting of the Color Blind Club for the Color Blind. The first order of business, tie dyeing shirts using unlabeled color bottles!!! FYI-Buddy is the president, also, another FYI, next meeting...Rubik's cube problem solving in less than 2 twists!!!
Unfortunately,  Buddy got sick the next day , so he decided to put his artistic skills to good use while avoiding the wrath of NO MEDIA MOMMY (that lady is tough) ....
He did such a fine job of symmetry that we decided to put him to the ultimate test....
Well, I always thought symmetry was highly overrated! So all in all a super fantastic, saucy, day!

Cinderella with my favorite little fella....

I tried to get Buddy to escort me to see Cinderella when it came out on Friday. He regretfully declined, with many words of horror about being forced to watch a "girly" movie. Last night a friend came over to have a sleepover with Buddy. This morning, two little boys woke up waaaaaaay too early after going to sleep waaaaay too late!!!! The severe lack of sleep left my boy tired, whiny and with enough brain power left to be easily manipulated into watching Cinderella....

Of course, his brain was still functioning enough to keep far away from any evidence that he went to go see a girly movie....with a bunch of girls (AAHHHHH THE HORROR)! Errr, what can I say, I like to use ALL of my tools of motherhood....even the tool of manipulation. So all in all a super fantastic, manipulating all the way to the movies, day!

This again....

We decided that we really like to be boring and do the same stuff over and over and over again, so we decided to hike White Road to the "Giant Slide of Death". At least that's what I call it, pretty sure that's it official name. This time we added more people into the mix to see who would possibly meet their untimely demise....
We all escaped alive, and only one of us lost their britches in the process! True story.....well, actually if I'm being accurate two of us lost our britches, but we eventually found one, so that counts for something right?

One of these days maybe we'll find something a little more entertaining to fill our time!!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, one day we'll learn, day!

Mission Accomplished....

Not sure how a whole week passed without me doing the blog, but here's what you missed! It rained for two whole weeks here....which is totally ridiculous because the Hawaii and I signed up for definitely had warm and sunny days listed in it's contract! Anyway, to bust the winter blahs we invited a few of the usual crew to demolish our house....

Pretty positive the mission was accomplished....That silly rat even got in on the destruction, of course the only thing she destroyed was Buddy's skin while she was gripping his shoulder in extreme fear while she tried to avoid the chaos called "Buddy's Rainy Day  Play Date"....
The sun finally decided to make an appearance today and bring back the heat....just in time for me to actually work a day shift , seriously dumb luck!!!!!! Thankfully, even though it's been two weeks of cocooning ourselves in the house, Buddy still remembers how to party like a local...
So all in all a super fantastic, that sun better be out tomorrow or we're going to have some fighting words, day!

Rolling with it.....

Buddy has to give an oral presentation on Friday. I asked him if he needed to write notes for himself or practice. He told me he performs best when he just "rolls with it".....I do not doubt that for one second!!!!!! In other news, we believe in giving out lots of love at our house.....even if we have to rough you up to give it to you!!!!

So all in all a super fantastic, rolling with it, day!

Nailing the OCD....

Buddy finally finished his cultural project on the Chinese immigration to Hawai'i.....

and I finally finished sitting on my hands trying to just supervise the project. Trust me, it took a TON of sitting on my hands to not rip off that blue construction paper in the middle top of his poster because it doesn't "go" with the China theme for the rest of his project. I even tried to talk him into using a red background for that piece of paper, since in my mind the colors of China are red and yellow......Buddy wanted a "pop" of color and quickly shot down my OCD suggestions! I'm pretty sure that's for the best! To celebrate all of his hard work and the end of the reign of back seat driver named "mommy", he decided to do some sumo wrestling, unfortunately he couldn't find a partner.....
That's probably for the best too! So all in all a super fantastic, sheesh, no one told me how hard this sitting on your hands as a mother is , day!

Medic.....

This weekend I got a  gig (not paying mind you) playing nurse at camp with a bunch of boys that were encouraged to play with guns, knives, and fire.....
Thankfully we all escaped with all of our digits  and extremities intact.....my sanity, perhaps not so much!!!!!! Did I mention Buddy is getting his Arrow of Light soon which means he'll be moving on up to Boy Scouts....I'm pretty certain they don't play with guns, knives and fire.....errrrrrrmmmm. In other news, Buddy has been working on a cultural project for the last TWO MONTHS.  He's been researching the first Chinese immigrants to Hawaii and their cultural contributions. Friday they're turning in their projects and having a "cultural potluck meal". I offered to make mooncakes with a really cool note in the middle of them  (which apparently were used  to overthrow  an invading army by sneaking in a message to all the village when to attack and now they have them during the moon festival celebrations every year). I thought my idea was marvelous, even if I haven't the first clue how to make them. Buddy however has overruled my awesome plans! Buddy has informed me that for part of the project they are including part of their own culture. He came home today to inform me that  "all the kids" were requesting his fantastic cultural contribution from last year's project... Deep Fried Oreos. Oh southern heritage, we are oh so proud! Today we stocked piled up on Oreos, because according to Buddy they are oh so good...plus he's really trying to sucker up to get a good grade on his project. So all in all a super fantastic, getting ready, day!
