Always the gentleman.....

We've been trying to fill our days here. It's been really difficult to find anything to do other than just sit in a corner and twiddle our thumbs....

Like I said, it's been really difficult. Grandparents even were wrangled into the making of this blog entry....

Instead of twiddling his thumbs this week, Buddy used his thumbs much more wisely shooting with Grandpa Charlie (although I'm not certain you should really be using your thumbs when you shoot, but that's just me).
Buddy said by far that was the best thing he's done so far on vacation. Of course after shooting $10,000 worth of ammunition I would seriously hope so!!! (I'm really hoping I'm exaggerating on the price tag). Anyway, at some point Buddy was asked if a shooter were shooting at his "girl" what would he do. At that point Buddy asked a qualifying question. Is the girl his girlfriend or his wife? Rest assured, he's not saving the girlfriend, but he will save his wife "because she is his responsibility to protect"!  What a guy! So all in all a super fantastic, somewhat a gentleman, day!

Awkward....

Since we only get to see my family once a year, we decided to spend some quiet time just getting reacquainted with them so things wouldn't be awkward. You know, quiet one to one time driving race cars....
Playing golf....

Fixing broken bows....
It's good to spend quality time together so things won't get awkward when you stalk  go see the first girl you ever kissed...
Like I said, we'd hate for things to get awkward....
So all in all a super fantastic, not at all awkward, day!

Wedded bliss....

One of my niece's got married today. Buddy and I got to have our first temple marriage experience together...and when I say experience, I totally mean we got to hang out in the waiting room with a bunch of crying babies. Well, at least mamaw had water AND fire to make up for it!
So all in all a super fantastic, wedding experienced out, day!

One is the loneliest number....

Every year Buddy's cousins have an end of the year homework burning party. Every year Buddy attends and regrets that he hasn't brought any homework to burn....that is until this year! Unfortunately, his cousins got out of school a week before he did and they already burned all their homework....which just led to this sad pathetic party of one...

To make him feel better about losing out on the homework burning party that was actually a party, the cousins decided to let Buddy have unlimited access to the cats!
Errr, thanks! Have I mentioned he's allergic to cats! Unfortunately he's not allergic to their cuteness so he cuddles them WAY TOO MUCH...at least it looks that way to me! So all in all a super fantastic, burned up, day!

LAGOON!!!!

Thanks to some people that didn't know how to cover their mouths when they cough, Buddy and I woke up sick on Sunday morning. After hearing the dreaded "I'm bored" a million times and not wanting to get my sister's family sick, we decided to hit up Lagoon yesterdday..plus it got us out of readying their barn for a wedding reception of Friday. I know, we're thoughtful!

In other news, on the way home from Lagoon I had Buddy help me pick out some red lipstick at the store so I can look swanky at the aforementioned wedding reception. On the way home, he confided in me that I probably shouldn't have asked his opinion on red lipstick since he couldn't differentiate the colors. Sheesh! At least he said the color wasn't so bright that it reminded him of a hooker....of course, when I asked him if he knew what a hooker was he didn't know. Yeah, I smartly let the conversation go at that point. So all in all a super fantastic, not going makeup shopping with the colorblind again, day!

Just Great!!!!

I've always thought I was a great aunt. Now I have proof....
That would be my grand nephew, which of course makes me a great aunt....and my sister really, really, really old to be a grandmother!!! Haha! I'm pretty certain I'm his favorite. So all in all a super fantastic, loving on babies, day!!!

Oh Utah.....

After a long and arduous journey....
We have finally reached our destination!!!! Just in time to catch the doggie train to Awesome Town....
I mean....COME ON?????? You can rent ridable (I'm certain that's a word) animals at the mall????You could never do that back home, first off, there is no mall!  Second of all, there are no awesome motorized animals....although there really should be. I'm just thinking of getting one for Buddy to ride to school and back, how cool would that be? Although I'm pretty certain that he will never want to walk again and then we'll have our own  "WALL-E" scenario on our hands! Anyway, back to the awesomeness of the mainland, once I woke up from my much needed power nap I signed Buddy and his cousin up for an archery lesson, just for the simple fact that I could....

Turns out Buddy didn't need lessons and kept being advanced through the hour lesson, but his cousin was super excited about it, so I'll call it a win solely on that point! Tomorrow we're off to my sister's ranch to start helping with getting ready for a wedding reception next week and a Bridal shower tomorrow night for my niece. Buddy has even been talked into wearing a wig and pretending he's a girl just to entertain his cousin. Now that is some serious family love!!! So all in all a super fantastic, glad to not be on an airplane again for a whole month, day!!!!

About time.....

Tonight Buddy and I will be heading off to Utah to go see my family. We are beyond excited and I'm thinking sleeping with an air conditioner on is SCREAMING my name....but it's really hot and I woke up way to early this morning, so maybe that's just a fluke? Who am I kidding? Sleeping with an air conditioner on is one luxury I am anxious to be reunited with!!!! Anyway, we've (when I say we, I totally mean I ) busy. I stupidly got suckered into working as a school nurse for the last few weeks, then I decided Buddy should have a humdinger of an Arrow of Light Ceremony....
Errr, yep, that is the only picture I've got, and that one was stolen off of my little friend I like to call Facebook! Buddy was super stoked and even took his Arrow Plaque to school to show off on the last day of school. Then I decided I didn't have enough things to do and threw another party for our old neighbors that happen to live in our basement. Just so you can all rest easily, my house actually does accommodate 150 people easily!!!!! Then I decided that since I hadn't had my fill of parties yet that I should probably throw one more for Buddy's last day of school.... Once again no pictures, but the kids had a blast and that's probably more important than pictures (although I'm still on the fence about that one)!  To fill the gaps of our boring downtime, we've alternated between helping Shane fix my car....
Of course, when I say help I mean that in the very loosest of translations.....and going to the beach so that when I return to the mainland and say I'm from Hawaii it's a bit more believable....
The boy and I are ready to get the heck out of dodge...although we wouldn't mind if we could take a few of our dodge dealers with us (see above dodge dealers). So all in all a super fantastic, filling our time wisely, day!
