Brotherly love....

Buddy is keeping the family tradition alive......
We got Scary Mary out of the attic this morning and Buddy immediately stuck in his brother's bed!!! Then Kevin put his birds on his head, so.....
Then Kevin started flying around the yard like a superhero.....just kidding the boys are too mature to do such a thing....
Yeah, who am I kidding, we're still watching cartoons and making fart jokes around here!!! So all in all a super fantastic, copy cat, day!

Buddy is toting a lot more than boogers and candy wrappers in his pockets these days!!!!

So all in all a super fantastic, looking for scraps....or boogers, day!

Too much of a good thing?

Saturday Buddy and I volunteered to help out for a sportsman challenge fundraiser for the BSA. If you don't know what a sportsman challenge is, you are totally missing out! This one included guns, rifles, tomahawks, slingshots, arrows.....

and cannons!!! Yep, it was pretty awesome!!!! I think Buddy wanted to keep the good times rolling (or shooting, as the case may be), so on Sunday he built his own target....with official NRA targets (we wouldn't want to be unofficial you know).....
Set the official 50 foot marker....
Tested his sites, while using the official bench table method....

Errrr, yep, that would be me, the table top! I must really, really like this kid!!!
 Buddy even kept score....
 Had an official spotter.....

and pretty much dominated Kevin and I! Oh well, I really do make a good table! So all in all a super fantastic, officially official, day!

Getting a lot of face time.....

Buddy is pretty popular in the media lately. I'm not sure if it's because we live on such a small island it's bound to happen (most likely), or if he's just mega awesome. That being said, both pictures are over a year old and are just now circulating.....maybe he's not as completely awesome as we thought? Nah, he's the cat's meow, just look at him
I mean seriously, look at him all slouchy and stuff! That lovely picture was in the paper advertising an oral history project the 7th graders did last year....they hook you in with telling you they have a book to sell on amazon. I took the bait, turns out Buddy is just as slouchy in his oral history as he is with his sitting position....I'm so proud. The one below was on Facebook, as you can probably see....I'll stop typing now.....

Finally, a picture of Buddy in good lighting....and good mudding! I think I would have missed both of them if  my friends hadn't tagged me when they came across them online. It's good to have friends, it's even better to have friends that will still play a good game of tag with you! So all in all a super fantastic, ready for our famous career of slouchy mud wrestling, day!

B....A....N...A...N...A...S

We invited some guys from Shane's work over for dinner.....then we invited them to help us prune our banana trees. Here is the fruit of our labors.....

Or should I say, the fruit of their labors. So all in all a super fantastic, totally stuffed, day!

A sight for sore eyes......

Buddy woke up this morning with his eyes crusted closed. I'm not sure why he didn't leave them sealed closed, I figure that would make for a nice party trick! Instead he pried the crust off and then stated he had pink eye and probably shouldn't go to school. I really, really, really wanted him to go to school today, since his eyes didn't cooperate with that plan, I decided he should at least go to the school of hard knocks today.  I wish my school of hard knocks was this hard! Seriously, it included dogs.....
 horses....
 rocks.....
 sticks.....
and some old ladies (although I'm pretty certain schools usually have plenty of old ladies around)....
did I mention the horses.....I'm pretty stoked about these horses.....
Now I have to rewrite "Mary had a little lamb" to "Buddy had a little horse", because this one followed us to school.....
Heck, we even ended the school of hard knocks with a hug, just like regular school.....except without facial contact....because cooties!

So all in all a super fantastic, this kid needs to go to school, day!!!

Nobody ever said it would be easy....or worth it!

Our rental was free this weekend, and Buddy's half brother doesn't come back until this Thursday.....which means that we decided to throw a party! Buddy invited 15 of his closest friends over, then we proceeded to drive a mile out of town and throw them out of the car.....they loved it, but then again they are teenagers, so what do they know? Ha!!! Apparently everything, just ask them! Anyway, the boys wanted the fun to last, so a few of them spent the night.
You can see a straggler in the top left corner. Since I'm a nice mom and aunty, I had them reimburse me for my party throwing abilities by having them help us refurbish a paddleboard that we picked up for free at a garage sale....

You can't tell me this isn't a look of excitement!!!!!!
Maybe we'll rethink picking up free things next time! So all in all a super fantastic, all cleaned up now, day!

That's weird....

Yesterday Buddy and I ran into a shady character (although, I'm having a hard time quantifying shady when Buddy is the comparison) at the grocery store. We decided to abscond with him and put him in our car to eat snacks while staring at a wonderful nature park.
After enough staring, somehow I finally convinced the boys to get out of the car and go get some exercise.....
 Pretending to exercise it is!!!!
Today, I absconded away with a probably even shadier character....
 Yep, definitely shadier.
So all in all a super fantastic, I'm hoping I don't have someone even shadier to pick up tomorrow, day!

Rock-a-bye bye....

I told Buddy that him practicing cursive would make me really happy. He countered that him in my arms would make me really happy. He won....
at least for the .000000056th of a second that he remained in my arms.....

Stinker! It was good while it lasted....and for your info, he never completed the assigned cursive homework! So all in all a not so super fantastic, he really needed to stay longer in my arms, day!

Soupy Sales.....or at least the sales part.....

Shane and I have been hunting for a mountain bike for Buddy since he loves biking so much and he's outgrown his last one....although, I think he really likes hitting his head with his knees. Since we don't have a billion to spare on a nice new one, we've been hitting the garage sales first thing in the morning on Saturdays. We may not have found a bike yet, but with a little bit of elbow grease,
 some real grease....
and a little bit of help from Shane,
Buddy got the coolest non-bike in the neighborhood!
That is if we're considering the neighborhood to be contained into the one square block of our house.....at least he has the coolest non-bike in the house! So all in all a super fantastic, he started the renovations all on his own, day!
