Rockin' it.....

Buddy and I are headed off to a ward campout for a few days. They were passing around a sign up sheet for a talent show....I couldn't resist signing up for our specialty talent....

Errrr, anything is considered a talent when you're glowing, right? If not, we may be in trouble. So all in all a super fantastic, talented, day!

This is how....

Today we had some boys over playing at our house, unfortunately we couldn't find a thing for them to do....

Hmmmm, hopefully we'll find something those boys like to do! So all in all a super fantastic, boys, day!

Flossie....

Today we were expecting to get hit by a huge tropical storm with the fancy name of Flossie. We celebrated the occasion by riding bikes/green machines in the cul de sac....

 And by hanging out at the pool....

I'm pretty certain we had the most awesome Flossie party on the block! If you haven't figured out by the pictures, the storm was a bit of a dud......we were hoping for torrential rainstorms (after all, Buddy did just barely get a new awesome rain coat that needs to be tested). Maybe next time. So all in all a super fantastic, flossing with Flossie, day!

Now you see me now you don't....

I'm on call tonight.....also happening, a huge storm named Flossie is headed our way! Shane has been battening  down the hatches all evening. Buddy and I have been contributing in our own special way...

Best eye protective gear ever!!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, ready for a flossing by Flossie, day!

Ridiculous....

I took Buddy and his friend shopping with me for accessories for an 80's party we were going to tonight. While trying to explain what a 1980's party entailed to two little kids born in the 2000's, they came up with the fashion sense of anything "ridiculous".....

Spot on I'd say! Buddy LOVED his ridiculous skirt......of course he only wanted to make an appearance with it and then quickly pulled it off! Talk about a party pooper! So all in all a super fantastically ridiculous day!

Overruled....

Today, all my dreams of girls outnumbering the boys at home came true....

Which means that we had a day full of makeovers....

And more hair accouterments than we ever could have imagined....

Of course there was a fair share of ninja chopping involved....

But then again, all of the best ninjas are girls! Buddy made up for the lack of male companionship around tonight with this...

I think he's good for a month now! So all in all a super fantastic, overruling, day!

Toothy....

I took Buddy to the dentist today so he will have sparkly clean teeth for the first day of school (at least less plaque encrusted, since school is still a week out, and I'm sure the sparkly clean won't last more than 3 more hours).....

While we were there....at least after Buddy busted out with an impromptu robot dance from his dental chair, the dentist told us Buddy needed braces.......Errrm, if you've ever seen inside that kid's mouth that statement is a no brainer! (Did you know they can start braces sometimes as early as 7 years old, I'm thinking my teenage years would have possibly been a little less awkward if I had know that information......well, actually my parents, since they paid the bill and all, it would probably make more sense for them to be the holders of this particular knowledge). Anyway, hopefully the orthodontist isn't like every other medical person on the island, or the next available appointment will be in about 20 years! The good thing about the dentist's office though, other than their new creamsicle flavored gloves, is that the office is one hop, skip and perhaps 2 jumps away from this....

Not too shabby I'd say, we even got to pick up one of his friends that lives in town to play for a little bit! So all in all a super fantastic, crooked smile, day! Oh and mom this is for your viewing pleasure, everyone else, feel free to skip the repetitious posting of Buddy on his EZ-roller and the bowl...

So all in all a super fantastic, crooked, but clean smiley day!

What happened....

Today Buddy did just some regular kid stuff...

Not sure if maybe he just got too much sun or something, but something odd happened upon our return home......

Told ya it was odd.....at least he's rocking the oddness! We may need to have him evaluated for sun poisoning later! So all in all a super fantastic, regular old, day!

Compliments....

After a restful (not) two hours of sleep, I walked into my living room where one of the neighbor kids greeted me and told me I looked like a zombie....Zombies are totally hot right now, so I'm pretty sure he meant it as a compliment! In other news, Shane entertained the troops while I had to run to work for a few minutes this afternoon.....

Yep, that's the troops having a hot sauce eating contest.....that might also be the last time Shane entertains the troops without parental guidance. Their poor little bellies just weren't quite the same after that experience....

I'd hate to see what would happen after a pie eating contest! So all in all a super fantastic, zombiefied, day!

Troublemaker....

Not sure what it is about this boy....

But every time we go to Target lately he gets us into trouble. Today's infraction: Skateboarding behind my shopping cart. Seriously, who knew the Target workers were such sticklers to the rules? In other news, we ended up not buying the "penny board" Buddy was skating on today....I guess that just means more of this....

for us! So all in all a super fantastic, getting into trouble, day!

No need....

I took Buddy to the skate park AGAIN this week. He's gone 2 times this week, and I'm pretty sure he'd be happy if we went every day of the week! Have I mentioned he doesn't even own a skate board, or the fact that he doesn't really know how to ride one? No need when you've got two feet I guess....

So all in all a super fantastically, skate boarding (I'm afraid to get on a stick with wheels), day

Weird stuff....

Weird things happen at sleepovers, I just never thought I'd still be part of them at the ripe old age of 40....

So all in all a super fantastic, seriously, go to bed, day!

Families....

Shane has been off for the last two days, and  he's trying to get in all the family time he can before Buddy goes back to school in two weeks. Apparently to Shane, quality family time includes shoving us in the car to make the 90 minute drive to Hilo just so we can go to Wal-Mart and do this....

I think Shane may need more time off, but maybe that's just me! In other news, those hula classes Buddy takes at school are really paying off! By the way, do you love Buddy's matching ensemble...he dressed himself. The OCD in me is kinda going a little kooky about the mis-matching outfits he keeps wearing, but bless his poor little color-blind heart! So all in all a super fantastic, families that hula together stay together, day!

Working out....

Buddy attempted to wait up for me to come home from my night shift last night. The boy was awake @ 6am when Shane woke up to get ready for work, so Shane insisted he go straight to bed.....Nice parenting, just about 8 hours late, but I guess better late then never! Anyway, Buddy was a fantastic sleeping partner and we slept in until 1200, then I decided to not be totally lame today and took Buddy swimming....

Thankfully, he ran into a friend while he was there to save me from the sub-arctic temperatures of the swimming pool! Then we came home and did some school work. The school work was rudely interrupted by sounds of giggling children in the cul de sac. When Buddy went out to tell the children to quiet down so he could continue on his path of learning, he was overpowered and forced to join in the play (ummm, at least that's the story we're totally going with).....

Too bad the picture is missing the 600 (really 8) children having a blast on bikes/scooters/green machines/skateboards in the background. It was awesome, well, until the 600 children left to go eat dinner. Sheesh, food, you would think people need it to exist or something! So all in all a super fantastic, not sleeping, day!

The pickup artist....

Today Buddy picked up a new set of glasses....

Later, he decided to test his hand at picking up a girl (he's a little rusty since school let out)....

Let me assure you, it was well done! Too bad he couldn't pick up a new set of teeth while we were out and about.....

Ha! That boy makes me laugh! So all in all a super fantastic, picking up things, day!

Pro....

Leave things like skateboarding to the professionals....

Errrrr, as long as you don't mind the professionals to be professionals at running around the skate bowl instead of actually using a skateboard, that is!

So all in all a super fantastic, professional goofballs, day!

Boys....

Boys are so weird! They'll play with anything, the grosser the better! Case in point....

Me telling them it was horse poo really didn't deter them in any way! When they were done with their nasty mess they were sure to dump it in the ocean. I may or may not have played a part in  contaminating the Pacific Ocean today! So all in all a super fantastically messy day!

Trepidation...

Buddy went to a birthday party at the skate park Tuesday. He was anxious the whole week leading up to the party, because he is not a skater.....and he doesn't like to fall ( a winning combination if you ask me)....

He came home after the 5 hour long party  and was totally excited, begging to go again soon. Of course, he didn't venture into some scary skateboarding trickery, instead focusing on his easy peasy EZ-roller. By that, I mean, I think he sat on his little roller cart and scooted around the sidewalk of the skate park. But he didn't fall, which means someone had a fantastic time. Talk about lowered expectations! Tonight we left to go to a little shin-dig at the beach  with one kid and came back with 4. I am now watching a Star Wars Marathon with 4 very sugared up kids that are supposed to be sleeping at a "sleepover". Good times! But then again I think that's my sleep deprivation from working the last few nights and not sleeping during the day talking! So all in all a super fantastic, marathon means only one right?, day.

A whole new level....

I think Buddy has taken lounging with a lounge chair to a whole new level....

So all in all as super fantastically lounged day!

That is after he got mad at me and he decided that throwing a pity party in his room was a little too isolating . You would think an only child would be OK  with solitary confinement, nope not this one! He had to put his mask on so he could ignore me, then proceeded to cuddle up on me on the couch! Hmmm, he may need to rethink his strategy, but then again I think it was a win-win for both of us. So all in all a super fantastic, mask making, day! 

Stylish....

Buddy really knows how to ring in Holidays with style. First his stylish moves on the paddle board.....

Then he came home and "got ready" for the firework show in our cul de sac....

Very stylish indeed! On a serious note, we are so thankful to live in the land of the free. So all in all a super fantastic, Happy Independence Day, day!
