Blasting off the end of 2016

Buddy and I woke up sore today from our escapades, which means we did a whole bunch of nothing. Actually, I take that back, we played Oregon trail a few times.....yeah, we died...a bunch! To get us out of that death and destruction frame of mind....may I show you a picture of our Christmas card?

Bet you'll never guess what we did today....

If you guessed, went to go see Moana at the theater, you'd be right! Oh, and we also went on a 3 hour horseback ride where I almost got bucked to my death....no biggie! So all in all a super fantastic, very glad I have such grippy thigh muscles, day!

A day out....

I took Buddy boogie boarding yesterday....

 Or perhaps I should rephrase that to "I took the boogie board, boogie boarding yesterday"....

Yep, that seems more accurate! So all in all a super fantastic, at least we were at the beach, day!

Hidey Hole....

Shane had the day off, so we decided to take the boys up the mountain to do a little sledding....

Turns out playing in a hole was a lot more exciting...

Father Christmas......

I'm just not sure if the presents are representative of them being nice, or a punishment for me being naughty! So all in all a very, Merry Christmas, day!!!

Bucket List....or at least the snowbucket list.....

Yesterday I took my boy to do a little of this....

Today, we did a little of this....

Not too shabby, I'd say. Buddy was pretty darn excited that the road to Mauna Kea was finally open and the snow wasn't completely ice....yet, since he's been jonesing to play in the snow for like...the last 5 years or so! Best Christmas Eve EVER!!!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, I already told you it was the best one, day! 

28 hours....

Last weekend Buddy and I went on a 28 hour excursion to do this....

 It probably would have been a lot cheaper to do this at home instead of flying to Seattle to take the picture, but then we probably wouldn't have gotten these people in the picture.....

Or figured out why Kevin is wearing this....

Actually, we still don't know the answer to that one.....so all in all a super fantastically expensive and ridiculously draining, day+.

12 year olds are weird....

I've decided that 12 year old boys are weird! First, I have two goobers taking selfies while they play fight in the back of my car....

I asked them why they were play fighting, "because we can" was the astounding answer! Then, whilst playing with my phone they somehow changed my name so that now everything is addressed to.....

Stupid! That's right! Anytime I talk to my phone to make a voice command, it acknowledges me as stupid....thank goodness my ego finds this more funny than offensive, since my phone must know that I've been trying to change my name back for days and I'm still "Stupid". 

Lastly, I've decided that this  boy takes the weirdo cake....

Just kidding.....he's super awesome.....

and this weirdo makes for a lovely addition to my workout! Yay! My legs are going to get so big that I'll never be able to cross them again if I keep this up! So all in all a super fantastic, here's our sunset today....

Not quite grown......

The Christmas Spirit is in full force around these parts....

 Which means this guy is on the loose.....

 Last year, since I thought Buddy had outgrown the elf a bit, we didn't move him around much. This year, I left the elf in the same place for two days and got a gentle "hey mom....they elf hasn't moved for two days" reminder from the aforementioned kiddo!  In other news, Buddy got a new fluorescent helmet..... 

 Which I guess just goes along with his disco themed lamp light in his loft....

is amazing! So all in all a super fantastic, not quite all the way grown up, day!

Today Buddy finally had his lung function test....

As a proud member of the medical community, I'm glad to report that after endless hours of testing and researching, it is determined that the Buddy is allergic to albuterol....which wouldn't be a big deal, but he's been getting it for the last 2 months multiple times a day "treating" what it was actually causing! Awesome....I'm pretty certain there is a parenting award for that! Thank goodness I could make it up to him today by taking him to a waterfall that is only accessible by helicopter...

Of course, Shane is the one that actually got this arranged...and we were only invited because we had no qualms about diving into the pool at the base of the waterfall to retrieve the dead pig that had fallen to it's death from the cliff above and exploded it's intestines everywhere. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but that's a special landing spot that I'm pretty certain tourists wouldn't think was so special with the stench of exploded pig guts all over the place. Yep,  I'm certain I have definitely redeemed myself as Mother of the Year! So all in all a super fantastic, never having albuterol again, day!
