Back to our Roots...

So in honor of Buddy's Native American roots....

Did you notice Goodboy's bow and arrow, borrowed from Buddy's shelf. Anytime we have a Popsicle stick and dental floss laying around (you'd be surprised how often that happens), Buddy insists I make a bow and arrow. He thinks they are so fantastic he invited the neighbors over once to make them too, ummmm, they weren't quite as excited as Buddy...go figure. Of course once they see the creation that Goodboy made with his borrowed bow and arrow...

They may change their minds!
Now for our totally unrelated picture montage....

I know, we really need to work on that sense of humor some more!
So all in all a super fantastic, cowboys and elves day!

Under where?...

So Buddy woke up to a little of this...

and a little of this....

He was so excited about all the mischief that "Goodboy" got into, he proudly sported his 'stache to school and then had me show my iPhone pictures to all the non believing boys and girls. Let's just say that by the time he was done telling about his elf, he had a believing audience...it didn't hurt he had the pictures. All day long he's been talking about what kind of mischief he thought Goodboy would get into tonight! Buddy even wrote a letter for him to take with him to the North Pole. Buddy sweetly wrote this...

(Dear Santa, Can I have some BB guns and some targets too and a tank from Toys' R'US? Love, Buddy)

Yep, that would be my boy requesting a BB gun, of course I couldn't help but channel poor little Ralphie with this response....

Of course Goodboy had to be the barer of bad news, because Santa always says yes!
Anyway, now that Goodboy has returned from the North Pole he has peed in the toilet without flushing (who knew Santa's Elves pee'd green) and made a mess of our toilet paper. Then he decided to do a little redecorating (although personally I think he has been reading a little too much Captain Underpants), see for yourself. Sweet little this...

Turned into this...

I don't know about you, but perhaps this is taking it a little too far?

Great, now he's encouraging the reinforcements, reading Captain Underpants, while dressed as Captain Underpants....

Hmmm, seems we may have an uprising on our hands!
In non-related elfin news, Buddy has finally mastered the slide whistle...

I think the 'stache totally helps!
I also think he's finally making headway with getting a sense of humor...

So all in all a super fantastic, well, at least Goodboy is wearing underwear, day!

Our own Good Boy!....

Thank goodness for technology these days! Lately I've been seeing my friends on facebook posting all the cute things that their elves are doing. Yep, I'm talking about this particular species of elf...

How the heck did I pass 39 years of my life not knowing that an elf existed just to cause havoc and mayhem! Although, I believe Buddy was a bit optimistic when he named his elf "Goodboy"!
In other news, we trimmed Santa's beard...

Then we defied gravity, cause we are that good!

Unfortunately, Goodboy isn't being that good right now and is already starting his shenanigans...

(No worries Charlie and Kathy, that picture is an extra one, the other one is hanging safe behind a frame on our wall....or is it safe?)
So all in all a super fantastic, this is going to be good, day!

Captain Cheesey....

Meet the world's newest superhero, he can swim long distances in a single breath...

He can stretch wider with a single stretch....

When he has an extra cheesy power boost, he becomes lethally charming and YOU WILL fall into his adorable powers...

He believes in truth, justice and all that is covered in cheese!
So all in all a super fantastically powerful day!

Planning ahead....way ahead...

I think all this island living is really getting us in touch with the environment. We recycle, we save electricity and water, today we kicked it up a notch with our "greenness" and went to the green sand beach...

When we were done with that, we watched Shane jump off a 40 foot cliff. Unfortunately, Buddy hasn't gotten the lecture about "if your friends jumped off a cliff" cause as soon as Shane popped his head out of the water, he was raring to join his dad. Ummm, yeah, that's not going to happen, at least until his 14th birthday. It is now official and you are officially invited. On October 29th 2018 we will be having the bash of all bashes at South Point to jump off a cliff. Glad I'm getting on top of his birthday party planning this time!
So all in all a super fantastic, jumping, day!

Whittlin' Dixie....

This morning Buddy woke up with a bellyache, so we did what any normal "bellyaching" kid would do and went to the hardware store to find a cure....

I believe the cure must be whittling with sharp knives, cause I didn't hear a peep afterwards. Of course the fact that he lounged around all morning watching movies about Santa and his workshop only fed into his whittlin' desire to carve out "two cars, a doll and a sheep" for our neighbors. Ummmm, not sure where the sheep fits in, but I won't interrupt the genius at work.
Later we invited above mentioned neighbors over to look at our awesome blocks of wood, and then created a homestead for the uncarved sheep...

Yep, we're awesome, but we're not just whittlin' Dixie, or are we?
So all in all a super fantastic, cured bellyache, day!

Parenting 101....

This afternoon, the school nurse called me to tell me that Buddy got a black eye during recess (it's still a great mystery how it happened). So, I did what any great parent would do, I went boogie boarding with some friends that are visiting. Of course my thoughts were of this cutie patootie ...

Of course those thoughts were along the lines of...too bad Buddy has to go to school, he's missing out! It wasn't as bad as the nurse made it seem on the phone anyway, wait was I helping my cause with that statement?
Anyway, after such a trying day at school, I treated my boy right! I let him ride up to Mauna Kea (that'd be the world's tallest mountain) in the back of our friends rental Jeep. Did I mention that the Jeep was 4WD, and convertible? Did I also mention it's freezing on top of Mauna Kea....and the convertible top remained down?...

The boys had to make a pit stop to play with technology and throw some rocks! Thankfully not at the same time ....

What is it about boys that they see a large cliff they insist something must be done about it?
We reached the top, got lightheaded and the giggles (which was coldly fantastic)...

Then I had an epiphany that I'm really more of a warm beach person than a cold mountain person (wait, that's not new news either, dang must be the lack of oxygen still affecting my head)!
All in all a super fantastically, glad I'm warm again, day!
