Songbirds.....

When Buddy got home he was so excited to tell me about the ME (think A+) he got in class today. Supposedly (and yes, I say supposedly, because lets face it, kids are known liars) they had to present a poem to their teacher today. Part of their grade was presentation....something my boy excels in! So while his group (which consisted of 3 kids) practiced, he told them they were "talking like boring robots" so he suggested singing their poem. They got an ME.....and a reported giggle from their teacher! It pays to be a showboater! To celebrate, I paid for a fantastic beach vacation experience....
Also known as just taking the kids boogie boarding! I know, I'm really nice! So all in all a super fantastic, if only we could sing our handwriting better, day!

Walking a mile....

We were in a hurry to go to church today, so Buddy and I threw on our clothes and shoes and headed out the door. Minor problem, in my quest for vanity I threw on my only church shoes. Those shoes happen  to have heels  attached to them, and I happen to have a disfigured, misshapen, painfully broken foot. When we got to sacrament I peeled off my shoes with a yelp of pain and Buddy assessed the foot damage from wearing a too tight shoe.  When it was time to go to our classes Buddy absconded with my shoes and left me with his so I wouldn't have to suffer anymore....

Of course he used the opportunity to act like a goober and fake fall everywhere for the benefit of the others in his classes, but I know that kid has a heart of gold! So all in all a super fantastic, voting Buddy as best kid every, day!

Stolen...

Not to steal a line off of a popular movie or anything, but I think Buddy likes warm hugs....
So all in all a super fantastic, warmest of hugs, day!

Toleration!

Nothing like standing in line for 2 hours to play 2 minutes of free laser tag.....
Nope, nothing at all like it.....although I will admit that 2 hours of line standing is a lot more tolerable with a friend....
Although not so tolerable with a mom constantly trying to take pictures !
Can you tell he's totally over me trying to capture the "perfect shot".  Poor kid has to make up for not having siblings by being the only center of my attention. I'm sure after a few years of therapy he'll be just fine! So all in all a super fantastic, free for a reason, day!

Life in pictures....

Yesterday, I told Buddy he needed a haircut by orders of his father. Buddy is a bit resistant these days to haircuts at the hands of Shane, thankfully he's not so resistant to haircuts at the hands of Buddy....Enjoy!!!

So all in all a super fantastic, not quite so hair raising experience, day!!!!

"It didn't really hurt"....

Buddy was invited to a birthday party on Saturday, since the party wasn't until late afternoon, we decided to hit some home renovations that have been asking for it since we moved in...

Did you see what I did there? Buddy had a great time smashing down the bamboo wall on our lanai, it put him in such a great mood that he immediately requested to smash another toilet while he was in smash mode. Since all of our toilets are now in working order, that request was completely denied, but I'm thinking a day at the dump smashing things may be right up this kid's alley! Pretty certain I could win a Mother of the Year Award for a day trip to the local dump!!! Anyway, we got a little wrapped up in our demolition and showed up a little late to the birthday party. Thankfully, the party was going for 24 whole hours and involved a nice little camping spot on the beach....so we were good! We were really good!
His girl "BFF" was there and Buddy had a big old blast.....A blast is not a blast until you tell your mother in complete detail about it though....
(Actually he's telling me in explicit detail about a video game he plays with his dad. You would not believe how many details were discussed about his video game, but heck, he was talking, so I was listening)! After all the kids stayed up way too late and ate way too much sugar a few of them decided to go boogie boarding  at the butt crack of dawn...
Not sure who put Buddy in charge of finding the "premo"  boogie boarding spot, but Buddy led us on a 2 1/2 mile hike along the beach until we found the perfect spot....right in front of our campsite!!!!!When we got back I had to hurry and take a nap so I could work last night. I got a good whole 2 hour nap before work and then when I got home today I only got a 4 hour nap which leads to this next horrifying confession.... I woke up from my not nearly enough of a nap/nap and found Buddy on the computer-that is after his BFF Tyler had already come over and invited him to go to the beach with him and he declined. Then I unleashed my uncouth horrid inner mama and yelled at him for ignoring real socialization to play VIDEO GAMES (THE BEEDER FAMILY NEMESIS) ! I was so mad that I spanked him after he got some more ridiculous yelling from me. Afterwards, I apologized for spanking him, his response..."well, that's fine, it didn't really hurt".  Did I mention I'm really tired and I don't make the best decisions when I'm tired?  Did I mention that the FedEx guy showed up while I was yelling at Buddy? Did I mention that he left a ton of stuff on my front door and ran away? He was probably worried that I'd try to spank him too, but according to Buddy I spank like a girl (which I am extremely thankful for)!  Anyway, we spent the rest of the day putting together our new treasures...

The last treasure was so awesome that we invited a few kids over to test it out for us....
Yep, it works! So all in all a super fantastic, definitely not my best day as a mom, day!

Plucky!

Whilst I was getting ready this morning, I look over my shoulder to see my boy doing this....
Of course he was just "pretending" to be plucking the hairs on his upper lip. Let's just pretend that he learned that strange behavior from Shane!!! Stupid pre-menopausal hormone shifting!!!! In other news, in the latest crime scene of elementary school whodunnit's, there was a lineup of the usual suspects....
Look who is King of the lineup....
Just kidding, they were testing out their straw airplanes from their STEM (science, technology, engineering and math for you old fuddy duddies -I'm looking at you mom and dad-that aren't in the loop of all the cool lingo going on in schools these days) group! Buddy usually sits next to his girl BFF Sklyer (she's beside him in the above picture), then he proceeds to eat every single snack she procures from her backpack the entire time.....Sheesh! Men!!! They sure do start young! So all in all a super fantastic, plucking all our hairs away, day!
