Route 66...

Today we just hung out with some friends, first some friends from Route 66...

Then some friends that like to hang on the dark side...

Then we had to search for one of our very special friends that has been missing for a while, we looked high and low...

Here and there, and everywhere...

Finally, we found him, he was right under our noses the whole time...

All in all a super fantastic Disney kind of day!

Disneyland, oh how we love you?...

So what could turn such a happy-go-lucky guy's smile...

Into a huge frown?...

Halloween on Space Mountain of course! One whole year Buddy has been waiting to grow and be able to get onto Space Mountain after being snatched from the line last year for being a quarter of an inch too short. However, with Halloween just around the corner Space Mountain has temporarily been turned into a house of horror's. Very disappointing.

Oh well, after we got over the trauma, we commandeered a boat...

Found some booty to make any pirate jealous...

Then blasted some evil aliens...

All in all a super fantastic, really wish Space Mountain hadn't been so scary, day...

Buddy sings the blues...

The road less traveled...

Now that Shane is home, he has a new attachment. It's 40 inches tall and 35 lbs and goes by the name Buddy...

At Lagoon on Saturday it was mandatory that all rides were together, and also mandatory, some

hand holding, just because they could...

Today after a much needed filling our tires with air (who knew you needed air to make the bike run smoother)....

We took a road less traveled...

All in all, a very super fantastic day!

Let's Celebrate...

We've had a great day of celebrating, starting off with a celebratory song...

Followed by some celebratory candle blowing...

Then we had a celebratory game of flashlight freeze tag..

Ending the night with a celebratory penning of a poem dedicated to the evening...

Now if only we could get rid of the monsters in someone's bedroom, mommy and daddy could do a little celebratory something else...

All in all a super fantastic, reunited and it feels so good, day!

The final countdown...

Shane is about to board his plane in Alaska and my very long journey of single parenting is about to end. It's been quite the adventure. Buddy is such a great kid and has been a super trooper, even though I have at times felt like I was going to be admitted into an insane asylum at any second. Buddy very confidently and soothingly would tell me "it's OK mom, I still love you". Seriously, who teaches them to be so stinkin' cute? We are so excited for Shane to come home, unfortunately I am scheduled to work when he gets in. Buddy of course has the answer "why don't you get fired mom", ahh the words of a genius. If I had a dollar for every time I asked my boss to fire me, I'd have at least ten dollars. So in the meantime, we're just sitting around, twiddling our thumbs, and finding other ways to entertain ourselves while we're waiting for dad....

All in all, a super fantastic, wish dad were already here day!

I am a great mom, Buddy wanted to wear his pajamas to school, so I let him (much to my mother's shock and embarrassment). He wore his cowboy pajamas because they are special. Why so special you ask? "Girls like cowboys", straight out of the cowboy's mouth, seriously? My boy, already dressing to impress the ladies, next thing you know he'll want to wear aftershave. Sorry, he's already taken though. He has a girlfriend named Ellie at school that he holds hands with and tells her frequently that he loves her (according to his amused teacher, guess it beats fighting with others). Anyway, Shane comes home in 2 days, we are beyond excited. So today we cleaned the apartment (OK, I cleaned while someone practiced their marksman skills)...

I know, we're cool like that!

All in all a super fantastic, wish it were Thursday already day!

Really, it's a good thing dad is coming home soon to level out the cheese! I grab the camera, and up comes the goofy expression, I'm glad I'm passing on the inability to take a normal picture! I'm so proud!

Things to do when you're a boy!!

1. Play in water often ( you never know when you'll get your next bath)...

2. Hang out with dinosaurs as much as you can(they may come back you know)...

3. Get as close to sharks as you can (but make sure someone goes with you, just in case)...

4. Hide in caves whenever you see one (it'll make for good stories later in life)...

5.Play with toys as much as possible (you may actually outgrow them)...

6. Always hold tight to your grandparents hands (they can get lost and confused easily)...

But gentle enough to hold a newborn baby...

Just as a record for future posterity, Buddy just asked when he grew up and married a girl and they had a baby if he could name the baby. I told him I didn't see why not, since his dad named him ( I didn't mention that his dad waited until I was in a drug induced coma to do said deed). "Good" he said, "I'm going to name it Shawn". Girl or boy name you ask, "it works for both, mom!" Sheesh! Now I'm wondering if Buddy is reliving a crush on one of the nurses we sat beside at a work meeting, who happens to go by the name Shawn. I'm sure he impressed her with his never ending stream of flatulence, who wouldn't be blown over!

I guess Buddy Pudtutty just doesn't have the same ring.

Today after school we picked up Buddy's friend Dallin for a day of adventure, it never hurts to start with a train ride...

Unfortuantely the plans to leave the kids with a lovely lady named Charlotte was foiled...

However, we are perfecting the art of stopping time...

We've been working on our navigational skills...

Which may need a little work...

But we finally found our way around...

Ummm, I'm going to need a lot of bandaids for that...

So I'm on my period, what Buddy lovingly refers to as my mommy blood. On his way out the door today he exclaimed "mom, you need to take care of that mommy blood and put some bandaids on it"... ah, if only that would make it all better. So heres to a good laugh that was much needed with my favorite boy...
