Moving on up....

Buddy starts 1st grade tomorrow! I would like to say we're excited, but he wants to be home schooled, and summer went too fast for me! The other day we were doing his homework (I give him some math and reading everyday) and he answered some seriously hard math questions. His response, that is after making sure I did a whoop and holler dance, was that Mrs. X (his kindergarten teacher) sure did a great job for him to answer such a hard question. Hmmmm, are you kidding me?
Oh well, all in all a super fantastic, growing up, day!

The Cure for what ails ya...

Yesterday we finally got an all inclusive pass to visit the doctor's office (really, it was a big deal)...

Fantastically, our new doctor's clinic is located right across the street from a cemetery. First thing out of the Budster's mouth "well that makes sense, in case the doctor needs to take the dead bodies over". Hmmm, appears that perhaps we shouldn't have been so excited about actually getting an appointment if the doctor has dibs on the best grave sites. Now that Buddy is on antibiotics I forced him to leave the house (at least to do something other than ride his bike). Today we took Kevin to Waipio Valley...

Buddy took his usual stance...

Kevin took his...

That's him sitting on the beach looking none too excited.
It was a great day of fun, but I do believe the mile hike back up the hill may have aged us a bit...

No big deal though, Buddy was sure to call my mom and complain about having to hike while he was sick! What a horrid mom that kid has!
All in all a super fantastic, finally hitting the beach, day!

Racial Slurs 101...

Buddy came into the bathroom while I was taking a "mommy break" to tell me that "Chinese peoples eyes go like this (at this point he's pulling the corner of his eyes back)because their brains are so smart". Well, I guess if your going to make a racial slur you should add a positive note to cancel it out? I have absolutely no idea where he got that from, I don't think he even knows anyone Chinese. He does know we looked at adopting a Chinese baby and Buddy turned that down because "I don't want no Chinese speakin' baby, I want a baby that speaks English(Buddy Beeder 5/2011)"! OK, really we truly can't afford to, but I like to prefer to say that it's cause we're partial to the English speakin' babies (here I thought they only knew baby talk). So that's it for my racially insensitive kid. Today was a day of bike riding, bike riding, bike riding, then the neighbor girl came over and Buddy put on a show...

Let me assure you, it was quite the show, then afterwards, you'll never guess what we did. Yep, that's right more bike riding!
So all in all a super fantastic, slurring, day!

Sea sick...

Buddy's had a headache for 5 days now with a low grade fever. Being the care-free mom that I am, I googled all the possible horrible diseases that my child could have. Today I called all the family practice doctors within a 40 mile radius (don't get me started on how ridiculous finding a doctor here is) trying to get someone to look at my sweet boy to reassure me that he was OK. Really he was, he was a little tired, but otherwise his normal goofy self. Finally around 5 o'clock I figured out what horrible illness was plaguing my child. I'm an awesome nurse, just throwing it out there, I'm also throwing it out there that I'm glad we actually didn't find a doctor to go to for fear of being looked at as one of "those mothers". Ummmm, yeah, Buddy was congested and now his nose is running, relieving his headache. That just reconfirms my belief that an ocean play a day will keep the doctor away! So here is my favorite patient that's in for a serious Netti pot treatment tomorrow...

So all in all a super fantastic, looking forward to our ocean therapy tomorrow, day!

Flashes....

Buddy has had a headache for 4 days, miraculously he was healed this afternoon when he decided that he wanted to go to a neighbor's house to play. Ahhh, the healing power of play. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow so we can check out the beaches(that would be the beaches that were closed due to shark sitings today). So since someone hasn't been in the mood to be my model, let's flashback shall we? Well, really you have no option other than to log off and leave me to my flashing by myself.....wait... what?
These are from 3 years ago when I was trying to be fancy and take nice picture for our Christmas cards. Buddy wore the sweater for this photo shoot only, then took it off and told me to throw it away! Why? "Sweaters are for girls", oh, didn't you know? (By the way, I haven't bought him a sweater since, except for his manly pirate sweater, but like I said, it's very manly!)

Not sure how this popped in there, but it's funny, so here it lands! I'm sparing you of the ones of me with my smothered face-you're totally welcome by the way.

Take that Kiddie Kandids, we'll take our own Halloween pictures minus the fake background...

I had to include these picture, check out the facial expressions on my dad. I didn't include them all, but let me just say, they tell a story of a little boy torturing/whacking his grandpa on the head, and it's fantastic...

These are totally a bonus, not sure whose bonus, but here they are...

That's it I'm outta here!

I'm sure you didn't enjoy the stroll down memory lane as much as I did, but I had quite an enjoyable walk!
So all in all a super fantastic, reliving the past and ignoring the whining, day!

Hot Lips Houlihan....

To heck with cooling down your forehead during a bout of fever, you gotta cool down those important parts first! Just ask little Casanova here!

All in all a super fantastic, cooling down, day!

Early Bird....

So I haven't been blogging lately because the computers have been overtaken by 3 boys! So today I'm blogging before the day is close to being done (maybe that means everyone can go to sleep early, since heaven forbid anything fun were to happen and I can't blog about it). Yesterday the boys watched a video about planking (that stupid craze where people are just randomly laying on things and taking pictures). My fellas did a one up on the planking, which they are calling plonking....

I tried to get Buddy to plonk on the edge of our lanai, but he thought that was a little dangerous, hmmmm, who raised him to actually have rational thoughts? Today we tried our best to put some sun on Kevin...

I don't think it worked too well, oh well, we always have tomorrow to bake him to a crisp! (I know you're totally jealous I'm not your step-mom too so I can devise ways to get a sunburn on you). Then we went to the dentist. All I have to say is holy crap it's difficult to get a Dental appointment on this island. (Note to self for next life... get a dental degree, get over the disgustingness of mouths [I know I stick my hands in way grosser places, but those places don't have teeth], and live it up in Hawaii). We really liked the dentist, thank goodness since it's the only one with an opening for the year of 2011...

Unfortunately, someone has a small mouth and big teeth coming in. Hmmm, I always thought Buddy would look cute with braces... and glasses, maybe I can think of some more things that he can be tortured with in his early pubescent years!!!! Yay, for cute Buddy.
So all in all a super fantastic, clean teeth, day!
