Runny.....

Today Buddy had a fun run at school....
Pretty sure they meant funny run....
Yep, they definitely meant funny run! So all in all a super fantastic, 500 water balloons done, 500 more to go for the end of school year bash of all bashes, day!

Hungry and games?

With all the hubbub of the Hunger Games movie being released, I have realized more and more that Buddy's aversion to all things "girly" stem directly from his father. It seems that unless there are cars, science experiments or it involves playing on the computer, my man wants nothing to do with it! Therefore, since my partner in crime (I actually mean Shane, cause taking a 7 year old to see Hunger Games is a bit disturbing) will have nothing to do with that movie, I am making do with not seeing it....but then again, real life is way cooler than a movie any day....
Katniss has nothing on these boys! In other news, the official water balloon filling preparations have begun! 200 down, only 1000 more to go, no big deal! So all in all a super fantastic, thank goodness I fed the hungry kids after their games...
day!

Free Babysitting....

Thank goodness I have a babysitter for when I'm taking a nap before a night shift....
Of course, when I say babysitter, I actually mean arts and crafts to fill his time so that I don't get a little certain someone coming in my room every two minutes asking me what I want to do. All I have to say is that I'm glad he's using his time wisely...
Now do I apologize for the anatomically correct art, or think my boy is a genius? I shoot for genius for sure, otherwise I may have to admit at this point that our house is super hot these days and my boy has been running around in his nubins since the in-laws got here (I'm half tempted to join him)! Told ya we were making a good impression! So all in all a super fantastic, time filling day!

Brrrr.....

We took the in-laws up to Mauna Kea today, it's really enjoyable....
At least until you drive all the way to the top and remember that you're a warm blooded creature....that and oxygen is good....
In other news, Buddy and I planted a garden today....
Thankfully, I believe he has learned some gardening tricks from my side of the family...
Errr, doesn't everyone stick the seed up their nose before planting? Hmmm, strange! Anyway, I was thinking that perhaps we could put Shane to good use and string him out like a scarecrow! At least he'll scare the small children away, maybe not the birds, but the children yes! So all in all a super fantastic, much warmer now, day!

Impressing the in-laws....

Since Shane's mom and stepdad are here, we decided to put our best foot forward and really impress them with our awesomeness. First Buddy wowed them with his Hula at the Ho'olaulea...
Seriously an amazing hula capped off with a bored face, can't get better than that! Then, we took them to the beach to amaze them with our awesome beach going powers...
I mean, seriously, who else is smart enough to bring not one, not two, but 3 spray bottles to the beach, just in case they want to get wet? Hmmmm, I tell you that kid is a genius! Then our impressive showering capabilities (errr, the grandparents weren't there to experience it, but I felt like it would really make a good impression if they could see his brillance at it's best)....
In other news, Shane wanted in on the impressing list and shimmied up our coconut tree yesterday, so he and Buddy could do this....
I'm not sure if Shane actually made the list though, his shimmy up the coconut tree was extremely lackluster since he gave up 2 seconds in and used a ladder instead! All in all a super fantastically impressive day!

Domo arigato....

My son was kidnapped today and forced to ride in a car with a bunch of strange people that played "Japanese" music in their car. Of course the kidnapping was more of a taking him with them to cub scouts, and the strange people happen to be the people we beg to hang out with us on an almost daily basis (it really is daily, but I didn't want to sound stalkeresq), and the song I believe was really a Japanese lesson (but it's all Greek to me). When Buddy got home he sang me his Japanese song and I sang him mine....or at least the only Japanese song I know....Mr. Roboto! He said he didn't like my song at all, I think he must be hard of hearing, cause seriously, who can shun Mr. Roboto? Especially when you have a fancy choreographed robot dance to coincide with your awesome singing! Anyway, when Buddy got home, his friend and her sister were over visiting....not doing much, just chilling, and growing our awesome stache's out...
I know I said I'd stop with the mustache pictures, but there is nothing more irresistable than a baby with a handlebar mustache, wouldn't you agree? That, and I may need a 12 step program soon. Anyway, since it was bedtime, Buddy read them both a bedtime story....
Buddy even let Sydney pick the book...
Obviously, this "manly man" is very happy about the choice! Oh well, he quickly made up for it after they left and he started reading a book filled with burbs, farts and boogers (and that was only the first two pages)! Tomorrow Grandma Judy (Shane's mom), and Grandpa Kirk are coming, which means I'll have more people to sway the vote to my side in the go to the beach vs. sit at home and be a bum debate! Yay! So all in all a super fantastic, domo arigato, day!

Told ya....

When I said mustaches make everything a million times funnier yesterday, I really meant it...
Sorry, I promise to keep my mustaching down to a minimum, or at least blogging about mustaching down to a minimum, cause I just can't help myself! Well, actually Buddy can help, but he usually gives me a full beard and I think beards weigh my face down too much. In other news, Buddy and Shane had some art time together and Buddy embellished Shane's rocket, by adding a working satellite and "space junk" floating around...
After that, Buddy asked me what I wanted to do tomorrow and I replied, "fly to the moon". He balked at that and responded that they don't let kids do that yet....so I guess tomorrow we will be building a spacecraft, a space suit and enlisting the help of our local congresswoman, at least that's what Buddy put on the agenda! So all in all a super fantastic, fly me to the moon, day!
