Something's wrong....
Today I got a call from the school nurse saying that she thought I should take a look at Buddy's eyes when he got home because she was concerned something was wrong with them...
I'd say there's something wrong with his entire genetic makeup...
But that's just a hunch!!!! So all in all a super fantastic, sand in our eyes, day.

Pots and Kettles....
Buddy has a cousin named Hyrum. Hyrum is the youngest of 7 children and is almost 2 years younger than Buddy. Buddy loves all of Hyrum's family, but when it comes to Hyrum, he tries to avoid him at all costs. He'll frequently tell whoever will listen that Hyrum is "too crazy". Hmmmm, I wonder if Buddy ever heard the pot call the kettle black? Well, yesterday "Crazy Hyrum" went a little too crazy with his at home gymnastics routine that involved the living room couch, and broke his arm and had surgery yesterday...
(Of course this is precrash)! So Hyrum (or should I just call you Kettle?), this post is for you. Today Buddy went to school after we tried calling you at the hospital (seems you were in a playroom...lucky). Then we ate lunch at school together and since the girls in his class weren't invited to Buddy's "Boys Only" party and all the boys that did go haven't stop talking about how fun it was, we decided to have another party on the last day of school (we're even letting the girls come this time)...
Try to talk you're mom into letting you come Hyrum (I'll even let you jump on my couch if you want)! Then after school I took Buddy and one of his friends to the beach (of course only after they finished their homework, because I am a responsible parent....errr, something like that). I let them try out some snorkel gear....
I'm pretty sure they were using their snorkels more like straws and I'm pretty sure they'll probably be wetting their beds tonight after all the water they consumed (I'll let you know if they do Hyrum). After they were done with that, they decided to just be boys and hang around...
Just in case you're having a bad day when you read this, I hope this picture of Buddy losing his head cheers you right up...
I know it works for me every time! We hope you get feeling better Hyrum, we're going to be mailing your mom a ton of bubble wrap so she can just wrap you up everyday so you won't get hurt again! So all in all a super fantastic, at least for us with the non-broken arms, day!

Pushing girls around...
Buddy's dream has finally come true and he announced to me yesterday that Jasmine (the classmate he's been chasing all year), has finally consented to being his girlfriend. Of course she told him not to tell any of the other classmates, cause frankly, she's embarrassed by him. Every time I go to lunch with Buddy, she sits right beside of him and then repeatedly asks me if I can make him stop being crazy. Hmmmm, you can't stop his kind of crazy. In other news, we went to a birthday party for the neighbor girl and Buddy obsessed for days over the perfect present. In the end he decided he needed to buy her a princess dress and a tiara. The stores were fresh out of tiaras (darn island living), so we made our own to give to her. Buddy was so excited about it, he even tried it on for size (seriously, that's big news, that boy of mine won't be caught dead in anything remotely "girly). Now I'm just wishing I asked him to try the dress on for size, just for a giggle! So all in all a super fantastic, partied out, day!

Easter....
Since Shane had to go to work today, we decided two is a lonely number and added (just for 8 hours) to our little family....
Then we showed them what this family is really all about....
Family "gun" values and all! So all in all a super fantastic, adding up, day!

Not all it's cracked up to be....
With Easter sneaking up on us, we finally got around to dyeing our eggs....
Buddy thought it was so fantastic, he not only dyed the eggs for the hunt, but my unboiled eggs for regular everyday, hum-drum use, and then proceeded to dye his hands. That just leaves me to think that all boys should be given weekly allotment of body paint (since mine seems to have stained hands more often than not), and their mothers should be given a never ending supply of vinegar (cause seriously you can do almost anything with vinegar....and duct tape....I think I'm going to research combining the two, I think I'm onto something).
Since Shane is working tomorrow day and I'm working tomorrow night, I let the boys bust out the family Easter present...
Yay, new faces for everyone!!! Ok, they're really awesome mini flip fliers....
But a boy can dream can't he....
So all in all a super fantastic, family fun day!

Times are a changing....or not so much.....
When Buddy was two, he visited the Easter Bunny...
and then cried himself into a tizzy. When he was seven he visited the Easter Bunny....
and then cried himself into a tizzy. Perhaps things haven't changed so much since then! Of course, when he was two he was probably crying out of fear for his life (seriously, did you get a look at that bunny). Then today, he cried out of pure embarrassment! Errr, should I feel horrible that I embarrassed my kid? I keep telling him he's got a lifetime of embarrassment ahead of him, but he's just not believing me! Perhaps, if I had a blog from my childhood I could bring home the point that parents only have kids to embarrass the crap out of them! Oh, that's not why you have kids.....awkward! I apologized to Buddy profusely and then bought some glow in the dark paint for his pinewood derby car, so of course I was forgiven (glow in the dark paint works every time). So all in all a super fantastically embarrassing day!
