Familiar territory....

Remember last year when I begged Buddy to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and this is what I got...

Of course, I was simply just trying to recreate this little chunk of awesomeness....

Cause nothing says Easter quite like a toddler with puffy red eyes from crying after being forced to sit on a man's lap. A man dressed in a Bunny suit just to make it even weirder and creepier. Anyway, today we went for the third reenactment.....

I think he nailed it! In other news, Buddy also decided to recreate his "crazy as a coconut" t-shirt....

I think he nailed it again, and all the other  kids were getting bunnies and rainbows painted on their faces!  Silly kids! In other more awesome news, Buddy ran into his BFF while visiting with the bunny, which resulted in this.....

Yep, that's the whole lot of them hanging out in a helicopter, cause that's what everyone else does on a Saturday, right?  Tomorrow is Buddy's Easter party, he just finished filling 108 plastic eggs.....of course I'm not going to mention what he stuffed them with, but hey, he's excited, and I'm sure if you're under the age of 8 you'd be excited too! Now he's even dusting the house to get it ready. Hmmm, perhaps we should have more "parties"! So all in all a super fantastic, going through the rigmarole  day!

Wrong....

I picked up a little something special at Costco today.....

Unfortunately they weren't having a sale, because I would have loved a two for one deal. Heck I could even go with a case of them I think! In other news, I'm still sick but my boy let me sleep in, that is after asking if he could watch TV (seriously, why is it kids only follow the rules when you're tired?).  In other news,  Buddy is hosting his first party on Sunday. Of course, like any good party planner, he has to make sure his props are in good working order....

Yep, we'd hate it if those bubbles just didn't quite blow on Sunday. Thank goodness we'll be checking that off of our list! Now I'm just wondering how many times Buddy is going to hide and then find the eggs before Sunday? All I have to say is thank goodness I'm smarter this year . The only eggs going out are plastic, because you only need to experience a rotten egg in the toy box once in your lifetime! But then again, maybe that's just me! So all in all a super fantastic, doing it right, day!

Winner winner chicken dinner....

Buddy won his pack's derby car race tonight....

People keep assuming that Shane helped him make it go fast. Truth is, the boy drew the design for shaping the car and then shaped it with the sander(I'm going to assume that is actually the name of the tool)....

Errrrm, it's totally normal to let your 8 year old loose with the power tools, right? Anyway, while  I was recovering from a night shift (aka sleeping) one day last week, he sat in front of the TV  sanding the crud out of his car....let's just keep my awesome mothering skills our little secret! Then he painted it. Shane helped him put a piece of tape down for his racing stripe, but the rest was all him....

Since I've already admitted to my awesomeness, I'll just go ahead and admit I tried to take the paint away and do it myself. I was adamantly told this was his project and he could do what he wanted! Smart boy! Anyway, when Shane got home this evening he added the wheels and the weight which actually may be the whole difference between winning and losing, so maybe Shane did what everyone is accusing him of. Oh well, Buddy is on cloud nine....

He's already planned to wear his cub scout uniform to school and wants to wear his medal he won at the Little Gym when he was 3 (I can already hear the string of exaggerated stories coming)! Maybe I'll just pin this picture to his back to knock him down a few pegs....

If that doesn't work, I can always use this...

Yep, that should do the trick. So all in all a super fantastic, where is our chicken dinner, day!

Slick.....

Buddy has almost finished his car for the pinewood derby.....

It's pretty slick if I do say so myself! The fact that he sanded that thing for hours on end just added to the slickness. Seriously, it's really smooth....or should I say slick! So all in all a super fantastic, slick like that, day!

Yardwork...

The boy and I apparently have different ideas come to mind when talking about yard work. I think I like his ideas better....

(Those boxes are houses, garages and of course an all important toy store, because apparently you can't have a town without a toy store.....of course someone ought to tell that to our sadly lacking town!)

I think it adds a little something to the yard, don't you agree? So all in all a super fantastic, still sick, but not out for the count, day!

Derailing....

Buddy has a head cold as a result of what I assume as culprits....a ridiculous amount of time spent in cold water (relatively) this past week, and poor care from his mother. To recuperate we sat in front of the TV for most of the day. Unfortunately, all of that nothingness has not worn the kid out, so now he is sitting here doing this...

 Seriously, someone needs to go to bed! I'm seriously rethinking my medication administration tonight since I held back the stuffy nose medication because I didn't want to zonk him out! Oh well. So all and all a super fantastic, go to bed Buddy, day!

Wonder no further. These geniuses decided to make a whirlpool......of course they all decided to sit in the middle at the same time while everyone else ran. That's right, they ALL sat in the middle so everyone else could run.....do you see the problem with that statement! Silly, lazy boys! So all in all a super fantastic, whirlpool making (not really), day!

Planners....

I took Buddy camping down in Milolli'i for a few days to hang out with some of our favorite peeps.  Buddy had a swell time and during the 2 hour ride home he talked non-stop about planning his birthday party (it's 7 months away you say.....don't you know, it's never too early to plan a birthday party). The aforementioned birthday party will be including this....

I believe Buddy is blossoming into quite the pyro. Matter of fact, after we'd do something awesome....like this...

I'd ask him what he thought was the most fun thing to do while camping , the answer was always this....

Who knew playing with fire could be so fun.....well, other than ALL the other boys since they all had the propensity to poke at the fire relentlessly with sticks! Which just makes me think that perhaps next time I'll forgo the camping and just put a fire pit out back and Buddy will be in a heaven that doesn't include me not showering for two days or having to hike a mile to the bathroom! In other news....

Yep, I really don't have other news, other than I have to go to work tonight, so I must take a nap. After I wash the camping stink off of me that is! Now I need to include a little snippet I'd like to name Awesome (my mother may have another term for it though)....

So all in all a very super fantastic, camp planning, day!

Humdrum....

Good ideas....

Buddy's had a string of good ideas lately. He had an idea to go to school dressed like this.....

Ok, perhaps that wasn't one of the better ideas ( but he did have a great back story about falling out of the canoe, getting hit in the head by said (now sinking) canoe and then getting his legs scraped along the coral reef). Then he thought we should head down to the Hilton  to do a little of this...

Like I said, he's been full of good ideas lately.....I'm just wondering what tomorrow may bring! So all in all a super fantastic, idea, day!

On time for Bedtime.....

Buddy is actually asleep before bedtime tonight! Hmmm, who knew that having gym class, a tennis lesson and an hour and a half long paddling practice will wear an eight year old down and out! So all in all a super fantastic, snoozing away, day!

Daring to dream...

This morning Buddy sketched an idea he had. This afternoon, with a little help from his friends,  his idea came to life...

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure that Buddy is the only 8 year old on the island that dreams of turning a scooter into a "mobile home"! Unfortunately, the box kept falling down onto the wheel, which led to a frustrated Buddy (trust me he didn't sketch that character flaw), which led to me quoting Edison. "I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work". Pretty sure Edison would have greatly approved of this endeavor. So all in all a super fantastic, using our minds, day!
