Men?

Today Buddy got a call from his BFF to see if he wanted to go do this....

That'd be, hang out in big machinery and knock down some coconuts! The plan worked wonderfully....

Well, it worked wonderfully until I realized that all the kids were getting a picture on Brad's (the driver) lap. I thought it was so fantastic I thought I should get Shane in on the action!!!!! Seriously, after all that gushing about my wonderful husband, I'm just wondering where I went wrong? No matter how much I begged him.....or Brad for that matter, Shane wouldn't sit on Brad's lap for a picture in the contraption (for lack of knowing the actual name of that thing)!!!!! Sheesh! Men! I would totally sit on someone's lap just for a funny picture.....Exhibit A (circa 2001, FYI those are our Halloween costumes that we donned on just to make the picture funnier..... the lengths I will go to just for a cheap laugh! )......

See, Santa was even down with the goofy picture thing! This is about the closest those two boys (I guess I should call them men, but I'm still pouting about the whole thing) would get for a picture....

Trust me, the picture in my head would have been way funnier! But at least we have coconuts to last us through winter, well there is no winter here, but you get the gist! So all in all a super fantastic, just take a funny picture already, day!

Soccer mom......

Some days, as a mom, you feel like you totally rocked it! Some days, you don't. Today, was a rocked it day. I took my boy to go hang out with his friends at the beach after school....

Then I made post game soccer snacks for his team (the team name is the Creepers....it's a Minecraft [video game] character...

I won't mention the melt downs he had or the fact that I had to carry my 8 year old like he was a baby to his class this morning , let's pretend this whole day was full of rocking it awesomeness! In other news, I have the best husband ever! He bought me a huge pack of pregnancy tests a while back from China, so I take them fairly frequently (don't judge me, I just made Minecraft Creeper replicas out of Rice Krispie treats). Anyway, I took one the other day because I've been eating weird stuff and feeling nauseated and instead of making fun of me....like a normal person totally would, he just said maybe I was checking too early. By the way it turns out I was  just nauseated and eating weird stuff, but my husband rocks nonetheless. I'll pretend we had a perfect day too and that I didn't have to carry him, kicking and screaming to work (just kidding, he didn't do that.....today)! So all in all a super fantastic, NOT PREGNANT, day!

Million Dollars....

So what do you do when you and a friend are allowed to go adventure inside a million dollar helicopter? Avoid actually going inside the helicopter and spend your time wisely playing with the windows....

Wise choice boys! So all in all a super fantastic, million dollar days!

Fertilizer.....

Today while Buddy was in computer class, he inadvertently went onto Brain Pop Senior, instead of Brain Pop Junior(it's an educational computer game that the kids get on during computer class). He told me that Brain Pop Senior had a health section to "educate you". Boy-o-boy, did he get an education! He told me that he learned all about the birds and bees (of course not in such pretty words). Then he told me that he finally figured out why I wasn't getting pregnant.....my eggs aren't getting fertilized. I'm thinking perhaps (thankfully) some of his computer education wasn't absorbed because he was insistent that there must be something missing from my diet.......errr, yeah, I'll go with that!

So the rest of the day was spent trying to figure out what I ate the day I got pregnant with him(pretty sure the meals weren't the memorable part of the day). Buddy isn't any help at all, he can't remember a thing! So all in all a super fantastic, looking into food fertilizer (who knew), day!

Mission.....

Today we went to church.....some of us may have misunderstood all that talk about going on a mission.....

But in other news,  it gave me a great idea for his Halloween costume! In other, other news, I called in sick to work. In other, other, other  news, having a head cold with lots of sneezing doesn't mix well with a urinary tract infection. So all in all a super fantastic, mission possible, day!

Peas.....

I'm glad that Buddy is frequently surrounded by others from his pod....

It almost sounds like they are aliens, talking about them being from the same pod.....But then again, after looking at the pictures, I'm pretty sure that there is something just a little out of this world about them! So all in all a super fantastic, peas in a pod, day!

Worker for hire....

I'm jesting when I advertise a worker for hire....

Because there isn't any amount of money that could pay for a worker like this.....you might even say priceless! Especially when you just wake up and find him starting his morning chores....in the buff! Very fantastic, I must say! So all in all a super fantastic, hard working, day!

House Hunters.....

We have been house shopping pretty intensely for the last few months. The market here is dwindling and houses are getting snatched up quickly. So today, when a new house was placed on the market that checked off multiple boxes on our wishlist, Shane called me from work and told me to go look at it. Shane told me that if the house was up to par, put in an offer! Seriously, that is some intense responsibility....put an offer on a house with someone else's money.....not only just someone else's money, but someone else you happen to live with, ugh, can you say that maneuver sounds a little risky to me!!!! Anyway, thankfully, I brought Buddy with me to shoulder some of that responsibility. He was in charge of documenting EVERYTHING in the house! He took his job VERY, VERY seriously. HE took over 200 pictures! Here are of  few of the highlights....

These are the best of the bunch, but probably just because he's photobombing them a little bit! Just for your viewing pleasure, I thought I'd include a picture of stairs (that could potentially be ours), leading to a little spot I call nowhere...

Thankfully Shane showed up before we left the house, so I no longer am solely responsible for any and all home purchases that I may, or may not be involved in! So all in all a super fantastic, thank goodness for Buddy the picture taker extraordinaire, day!

Attack.....

Buddy was attacked by a pack of wild dogs tonight.....

No worries, thanks to his awesome survival skills, he made it through the attack unscathed! In other news, Buddy was telling me he wanted to be able to sleep however he wanted in his bed (that would be right in the middle). I assured him that he could sleep however he wanted to in his bed, but then he reminded me that I bought the bed, therefore, it was still my bed. To remedy the problem, I bequeathed the bed to him. In other, other news, Buddy wants to take the bed apart tomorrow and use the wood to make a go cart! Hmmmm, I think that may be the last of me giving away my furniture to an 8 year old for a while! So all in all a super fantastic, gonna make a go-cart, day!

Planning.....

This morning, I planned to practice a little bit of soccer footwork before church with my boys.  The boys had other plans....

Smart boys, it was hot this morning! So all in all, founder of the best laid plans committee, day!

A whale of a tale....

Nothing says family quite like the memory making involved with taking family photos. Sometimes you just need to find the right prop to make your photos really POP. Thankfully, I think we found just the thing today....

The photos make sense....since I come from a long line of whale riders......OK, we stood in a long line to get a whale to ride, so that should count for something.....right????? Of course, nothing quite says hours of entertainment in a pool until you see the boys doing this....

Nothing like 8 hours of continuously hopping on top of a whale, only to be flipped back over again! They were so exhausted that they were actually begging to go home to rest!!!!! Heeheee! Job well done I say. Perhaps I should sell the whales with a work out video, because I'm sure those boys burned off thousands of calories today! Hmmmm, don't steal my idea, I'm totally going to be rich! So all in all a super fantastic, I'm going to be rich, day!

A little help....

It's always good to get a little help from your friends.....

Of course, it always works in your favor when you're one of the littlest in your group so you are guaranteed a prime spot during a 2-man carry race! So all in all a super fantastic, if I were only the littlest in my group I'd totally be into getting some 2-man carry races, day!

Kept?

Today Shane and I filed paperwork to get a loan to buy a house. According to the credit reports....I basically don't exist because I haven't had or used credit for anything in the last 6 years. I'm trying to find it in me to actually care.....

Hmmm, still don't care! Besides, I always wondered what it would feel like to be a kept woman......not bad, not bad at all! So all in all a super fantastic, thank goodness for Shane or I'd be whistling a different tune, day!

Ropes....

I've been waiting for a whole week for Buddy to invite me to have lunch with him, today was the day....

Of course, I think I've been waiting for an eternity to see this....

Yep, not sure what "this" is, but it's what the boys do during their lunch playtime.....You would think they didn't have imaginations or something with this kind of behavior! Anyway, after school we high tailed it down to the beach to hang out with my old roomy. Buddy was sure to give her an in depth instruction on the use of the boogie board...

I don't want to be rude or anything, but he may need to repeat his instructional lecture!

So all in all a super fantastic, school lunch with a side of ham, day!

Simple.....

Buddy's first soccer game of the season was this morning. Here's Buddy warming up with one of his "BFF's" before the game.....

Actually, I was quite hesitant to post these pictures....I'm afraid the other teams will stumble upon this post and find out the boys' pregame workout strategies! Seriously, these boys had some awesome tricks up their sleeves today and I can only credit it to their focused preparation this morning.  Now that Buddy is playing in U10, he can play the role I believe he was destined for....

Ummm, that'd be goalie if you're not quite into soccer and have no idea what I'm talking about. Just look at his moves...

Just kidding.....here's what he really did....

He blocked 2 scores....which was awesome, since we missed both practices this  week and he's never played goalie before. Then his coach let him play center mid because his coach last year never played him in that position (don't get me into that, it's a whole other diatribe). Buddy was elated and he did awesome....

He came back to me dirty and sweaty....

I'd say job well done! I'd say the boys' thought so too...

Unfortunately, he was so tired by the end of it all, he had to keep hitching rides....

Surprisingly, he never really did get very far like that! Oh well, maybe next time he'll pick a faster moving statue! In other news, one of my old college roommates is in town, which means that not only do I get to relive my 20's, but we also get to mooch off of her and use her pool access at the Hilton.....it's a total win-win (at least in my book, maybe not her's)!

I still can't believe that we are 20 years older than when we first met....it ALMOST makes me think I'm old, but then I think again, and I'm good! So all in all a super fantastic, living the simple....simply awesome life, day!
