So last night we went out to the Jazz game with a few friends, I was worried about Buddy being bored. Silly me, that kid has never met a stranger, and he has never been bored as long as he can use his voice. He decided that he was the odd man out's date and insisted that Eric (odd man out) sit beside him in the car and hold his hand. Then when we got there, (after he talked Eric's ear off) he decided to talk the ear off of the college kids sitting in front of us. They thought he was fantastic (which of course he is) since he was screaming for the team, dancing to the songs, clapping and per usual, flirting with the girls! So I think we'll take him again, what better place to let your kid use their indoor voice when their indoor voice can sometimes be mistaken for a scream!
(Yeah, we're cool like that, so cool that we are the nosebleed section and loving it!)
So all in all a very super fantastic day!

The mouse in the house!
I think that there is something living in the walls of my bathroom. I keep hearing knocking sounds, and you wouldn't believe the size of the droppings of this thing!
(I really like the Corona box left in the crawl space by the construction workers, I think it gives a little pizzaz!)
I think I need to reread IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE, because I just gave my mouse a cookie, and now I'm nervous, because he's asking for milk!
All in all, a super fantastic day!

Detours....
So this afternoon, Shane talked us into going to Tooele to get a book from one of his friends to study for a test he has to take before he starts his new job. I thought boring, Buddy, that kid has it going on, all he was thinking was family road trip! If you've never been to Tooele, you are really not missing much, but on the way, Buddy happened to see the coolest thing ever. Thank goodness we recently joined a recreation center and Buddy and I have been practicing our rock climbing skills, OK he climbs and I direct, it works out really well that way. Anyway, our skills definitely came in handy, even though I had my mommy freak out mode in overdrive (sorry I see a cliff and immediately think impending doom). Thank goodness these pictures are not scratch and sniff because the great Salt Lake is greatly stinking. On our way home Buddy wanted to stop at the Bird Poo Place (yes, there really is a place), but it was closed, I'm just thinking but maybe it's the boy in him that likes the stink! I mean it would explain why a dog we ran into kept sniffing his behind, and possibly why Buddy kept sniffing the dog's?
The big rock
Buddy and me, making goofy faces on top of the "rock"
Buddy obviously doesn't need my help to make goofy faces on top of the rock
Trust me, it was a long way down!
So all in all, a super fantastic, we even saw a train day!

Location, location, location....
So we have officially moved into a new townhouse, while we were unpacking we discovered a very strange, out of place outfit. I'm not sure who it belongs to because we are not lovers of all things trains at our house, that's just silly talk. As soon as the outfit came out of the box, Buddy let a cry escape from his mouth, that's right a cry of joy and immediately donned on the outfit and geared up the train, running around as fast as his little chug legs could take him. First stop, right beside a volcano in Hawaii (seriously, poor kid has no imagination), next stop Santa's workshop to check out Santa's elves. Sorry if we didn't tell you all earlier, we moved apparently somewhere smack in the middle of Hawaii and the North Pole, seriously premo location!
So if you ever want to take the Hawaii to North Pole train, I happen to know a really great engineer, and for a small price you too can ride the Buddy Express!
So all in all a super fantastic day!

Mother of the Year, yet again...
So it's cold out there today, but someone wanted to wear their pajamas to school, and someone's mom actually let them! Seriously, someone's mom needs to get a handle on things.
I especially like how the pajamas barely fit anymore, but who needs fitting clothes when you're a superhero!
Next thing you know I'll be one of those moms at Wal-mart that has those dirty kids on leashes with snot all over their clothes, just watch out, I'm on my way to greatness!
All in all a super, at least he wore a coat, fantastic day!

Separated at birth?
So lately Buddy has been making a special face when he gets angry, it kept reminding me of someone that I just couldn't put my finger on. Well, at least until there was an accident at the lab and Buddy was exposed to a gamma bomb and turned green...
(I don't know about you all, but I'm afraid to make this guy angry)!
So all in all a super fantastic hulky day!

St Patty's Day...
Thank goodness Buddy has some Irish in him, although when he returned home from school he was quite sad that his shirt didn't score him extra lovin's from the ladies. He did set a trap to catch leprechauns at his school, those darn pesky things escaped though, of course after leaving a mess behind (including green pee in the toilet)!
So,all in all, a super fantastic, leprechaun chasing kind of day!

What you get when you see too many commercials....
So last night Buddy and I were watching cartoons, and what should interrupt our regularly scheduled program, but a commercial (I miss our Tivo). The commercial was for Disney on Ice which happens to be in town this weekend, and who is the guest star of the show? Tinkerbell, now normally Tinkerbell doesn't get Buddy into a frenzy of excitement (I'll actually say thank goodness for that one, not because of a gender thing, more that Tink is a very expensive role model). Right after the commercial Buddy was more than excited to go to the show, and repeatedly asking if he could take his cousin Elizabeth who happens to have a penchant for good ole' Tink! So after a few phone calls and an invitation to spend the night, Elizabeth, Tyler and Buddy settled down to a good book....
I have to say last night was the first time in a very long time I haven't been woken up at some unnatural hour with a request to pee, get a drink, or to get into my bed and it was heavenly. So this morning we got up, rode the Trax train to the Arena and watched Disney on Ice. The kids loved it, I was in awe and Shane sat like a grump through the entire show, although at the end he said the show was much better than it was when he saw it in the 80's (I should hope so). So Buddy has said goodbye to his cousins that had to go home, but I'm sure he'll be on the lookout for more reasons to invite the cousins up for a slumber party!

Spring fashion show....
Today I guiltily indulged for a little bit in watching America's Next Top Model, Buddy decided I should stop watching the television and start watching the true next top model. Here are a few pictures from the shoot...
I think he's well on his way to being America's Next Top Model and his $100,000 contract with Covergirl (heehee)!
All in all a super fantastic modeling (maybe we should stick to clay) day!

Notice....
Dear Uterus,
I like how you've stuck with me the past 37 years, but I need to inform you if you are not going to do your job of carrying another baby, the least you could do is to perform your sloughing in a timely manner. It's not nice to play those tricks on me, making me think that I could possibly be pregnant, getting my hopes up. So here is your notice, you are officially 5 days late and I know better.
I appreciate how you carried Buddy to term, but seriously, could you have pushed him harder down into the birth canal during contractions, so I wouldn't have had to? And really could you have kept your arteries attached so I didn't have to have surgery? Just some things to think about while your on probation.
Regrettably,
Me
(I know better)
P.S. While we're at it, I'm going to have a chat with lower back, I think both of you have some serious shaping up to do!

Attack of the Ninja...
After an exhausting day of ninja training, where we practiced our stealth skills (suprising how a deaf old man couldn't hear us)....
Practiced our mind control...
Tried our hand at levitating...
And of course, we practiced blending into the background, like any good ninja...
We have decided to take it easy and make some beautiful music....
OK, just kidding, we're going to attack that deaf old man so we can practice our attacking skills...
So all in all a super "ninja" tastic day!

What's up Goobey Goo?
So what is better than indulging in a little of this?
Possibly the fact that Shane has decided to not be banished to Denali, instead he is going to do tours this summer in the Grand Canyon, which means every other week we will be graced by a visit from dad! To that I say: YIPEEEEEEE!
We are very excited, especially Buddy who is happy we will be a "family again". To those of you who are naysayers about me never going in the past to AK to live for an "adventure", walk a mile in my shoes. I used to watch documentaries on the great depression and think what crappy dads for not taking their families to wherever they were working and here I am, decades later, repeating the same steps. But to us, it has made sense because of the always constant of my work, which even though nursing is a great job, plenty of hospitals have been affected by the recession, not mine though, so I stay! So I lead with my head not my heart, sorry but that's what pays the bills, and Buddy has had plenty of love and support when his dad is gone, and plenty of food in his belly and knows his dad loves him very much (and that is the most important).
So for now Buddy wanted to show off a few things from school. First his art project from last week when they were learning about the solar system....
And his yoga pose of the cow:
Seriously, is there anything funnier than a kid doing yoga, well maybe a little of this...
So far a super fantastic, sticking together and it makes us really happy, kind of day!

Rock Star of the Week...
So while heading out the door today, I checked Buddy's backpack. Turns out it's his special week at school to be Star of the Week and one of his parents (we won't mention names) was told so that the appropriate posters singing Buddy praises could be plastered up in his classroom. After a few expletives raced through my head, tada, what could be more praise worthy than a book all about you (thank goodness for the printed out Blog book for Christmas to my mom)....
When we picked Buddy up from school he was still going from page to page showing everyone every single picture and demanding that no one let their eyes wander so they wouldn't miss a funny picture (which by the way is 99% of the pictures).
So we came home and decided to conduct a few experiments (that is after he had me read the book for the six millionth time)...
Now we've decided to put on our gangsta hats and just look cute...
So if you're looking for us, we'll be the ones chillin' and looking cute on our super fantastic day!
