4th of July Eve.....

I told Buddy he could stay up until midnight tonight, he quickly proceeded to hug me and told me that 4th of July Eve was his FAVORITEST HOLIDAY EVER!!!!! So apparently, we're so cool, we get to rename holidays! Today was a day filled with awesome (well, other than the fact that I slept through most of it...which in and of itself was awesome). First up, Shane took his brother and his family to Akaka falls, which I believe put Buddy in a pensive mood....

That or he has to fart, I've never been able to tell the difference in his facial expressions between the two! When they got home we high tailed it to our friends' house, our friends who happen to be chock full of awesome....

Seriously, nothing quite says the sentiment of 4th of July Eve like a rousing game of Nerf guns with friends and family! Then of course you have to have the fireworks....

Now we're home and the only one who wants to stay up is the Budmeister, which leaves me to wonder....when did Shane get to be so old? HA! I've been trying to get Buddy to tell me his favorite thing about 2012 and he keeps trying to kiss up and tell me that Shane and I are his "favorite thing". I think there must be a ploy  for something super extra awesome for Christmas next year! My favorite thing was being home with my boy so much...and I'm not going to lie, hanging out at my sister when I went to go visit my family this summer! I would ask Shane, but he's slightly comatose on the couch....but I'll just assume I'm also his favorite thing of 2012, like son like father right...don't worry, I know he wants something too! So all in all a super fantastic, isn't it midnight yet, day!

One of these things is not like the other....

GO TO BED...

Buddy's cousin Damian is here, so I decided to inaugurate him with some awesome lanai camping....

Which has quickly turned into......GO TO SLEEP ALREADY BOYS!!!!!!! Tomorrow we have a list of warm weather things to complete! Thank goodness warm weather is expected tomorrow! So all in all, a super fantastic, seriously....GO TO SLEEP, day!

Tomgirl?

According to Buddy's train of thought..... if Tomboys are girls that like "boy" things, then Tomgirls are boys that like "girl" things. Here is my "Tomgirl" sporting his newest "as seen on TV" find....

I guess it doesn't matter how "girlie" something is, if it has foot controlled motion it's awesome in our (Buddy's only) book....

Besides, you can always "man up" your pink bunny slippers with a well coordinated outfit, right?

So all in all a super fantastic, loving the slippers so much he wore them in Costco (in the cart of course, otherwise he'd muck up those bad boys (or girls....not sure what gender the bunnies are)), day!

Dinner and a show....

We just had dinner, so here is a little show....

Thank goodness for stalking your neighbors until they spill where they are headed so you can go too. It's an evil plan, but very effective....

In other news, all of our Christmas decorations are down, and put away.....how is that for OCD for ya? Plus, I win mother of the year for spilling the beans about the elf. He said he already knew, but he thought it was funny. Then he proceeded to man-handle the elf for a good 30 minutes (a big no-no for the believers). His proof? He" touched the elf EVERY DAY and the elf kept coming back", that and apparently I go to bed later when the elf is "super naughty". Hmmm, maybe I'll make him in charge of entertaining me next year! So all in all a super fantastic, proof is in the pudding, and who says stalking is bad, day!

Christmas....

Today, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, I'm reminded of all the things in my life that I want to celebrate (errrr, nice segway right?).  Like the fact that my family doesn't complain when I dress us in matching apparel (I see years of awesome therapy in one of our future's....just kidding...I think).....

Or celebrate the fact that I have this little studmuffin in my life.....

Then of course there is the original studmuffin in my life....

Now on to celebrate the fact that Darth Vader is so fashionable...

(He's even more fashionable when you wear a facial expression matching what is under that mask)! In other news, great minds think alike....

That would be Hemi in Utah sporting her awesome green....errrr, pink machine! So on this day of celebrations, I truly am thankful for all that I have been blessed with, and that I am surrounded by an awesome celebratory team! I'm also thankful for a sound sleeper at night....

Without whom, the elf would not nearly have been so fun this year!  So all in all a super fantastic, Merry Christmas, Christmas Day!

The compromise....

I grew up with the tradition of opening all our family Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve. Shane grew up getting not only all the Santa gifts, but all the other gifts from friends and family on Christmas Day. When I got home from work this morning we decided to compromise....there may have been a little pleading involved....one present on Christmas Eve. Buddy is a smart kid, he chose the biggest present under the tree to open, which lead to this awesomeness for most of the day....

Yep, that's right, my boy the professional marksman! After he worked out his forearms for a few hours, he decided to expand his horizons and try out a Star Wars Nativity....

Hmmm, turns out not as fantastic as it sounds....must have been because Princess Leia wasn't with the Three Kings! Oh well, there is always next year!  Now to work on someone going to sleep so the elves can get to work, that would be fantastic! So all in all a super fantastic, woohoo, day!

The good life....

We have become all too accustomed to our nice warm weather so that when we get hit by a cold front, we have to make sure to bundle accordingly...

Did I mention that this "cold front" was 77 degrees? I would make fun, but I was doing the exact same thing! So all in all a super fantastic, bundled up, day!!!

Helping hands....

Today Buddy moaned and groaned that I took him to the beach.....without any of his friends (gasp, the horror). Well, he moaned and groaned until I buried him chin deep....

That always works! The rest of the time was smooth sailing....

Well, except for the part that we took a million pictures and only have this one with the two of us because believe it or not, it's difficult to tell what you're doing when the sun is in your eyes!!!! Oh, turn around and have the sun to the back of you, then you can see and you won't have awkward shadows in your picture? Well, now you tell me! After our awesome photo shoot, I decided to see how awesome he could pose on a moving object....

Seems like the answer is: pretty well! In other news, we went to go play tennis tonight. In other, other news, they changed the pass code on the lock so we didn't actually get to play. Since we had Buddy's friend with us, we decided to make a night of it, so we loaded up some cups of hot cocoa and drove around to see all the beautiful Christmas lights.....

Ummm, I mean, I drove around and looked at lights while the boys got hopped up on cocoa and redecorated Buddy's face from the comfort of the backseat of the car! So all in all a super fantastic, helping hands, day!

The whole truth and nothing but the truth.....

The truth is, slurping is totally acceptable.....

when everyone else is doing it. And, Monopoly is way cooler when you're using Star Wars battle ships as your game pieces....

So all in all a super fantastic, telling the truth about it, day!

As if it were possible....

Buddy woke up way too early this morning and proceeded to call his BFF Tyler to see if he could come over to play.....well, he was trying to call Tyler until I told him to immediately hang up the phone because calling someone to come play before 8 am is just not cool. When it became a reasonable hour Buddy got in touch with his BFF. They played for a while, and then I think Tyler got a little bit cooler in Buddy's book...

Yep, that would be Tyler controlling that Excavator without adult supervision. Well, OK, there was adult supervision....

Just kinda not where you expect it with million dollar equipment. Now that we know how awesome Tyler is, Buddy may start making his calls at 6:30 am instead of 7:30 like this morning! Errrr, perhaps I should hide my phone. So all in all a super fantastic, digging it, day!

It's like Christmas in December?

It's amazing what awesomeness you can find when you actually look in your toy box....

Buddy's been playing with his old camera nonstop for the last several hours, making movies, playing games. Maybe I should have looked in the toy box before actually buying Christmas presents this year? Hmmm, I wonder if that trick would work on Shane? In other news, we had an Ugly Sweater Party for the Faith in God girls....

Why yes I am rocking the side pony AND blue eye shadow, thank you for noticing! So all in all a super fantastic, old is new again, day!

A day of unrest.....

Buddy was kind enough to give me whatever he had the other day. He was also kind enough to let me rest by doing this....

in my "sick room". I'm hoping tomorrow will be a little bit more exciting! So all in all a super fantastic, not resting, day!

Sick.....Buddy style.....

Buddy was up most of the night complaining of an upset stomach. When he woke up he felt "fantastic", then he farted out a surprise! I don't think any sickness quite says Buddy, like diarrhea! It's like a present in your pants.....he had so many presents over the last two days, that he ran out of pants and  got to open an early Christmas present....

(That would be some Star Wars pajama awesomeness going on!!!!) After some wardrobe changing we decided to just sit around.....

Well, sit around and be creatively awesome.....

Heck, the boys were so creatively awesome, they made some adjustments to one of the projects so it now does this....

In other news, I think whatever Buddy had, it must have been contagious....

(FYI-that's a puke bowl by his head) Good news though, the elf is making a full recovery! I'm just hoping he doesn't recreate the diarrhea or we'll have a huge(r) mess on out hands! So all in all a super fantastic, poopy pants, day!

Down and out....

Buddy has been sick all day....

Shane didn't believe  when Buddy woke up complaining that his tummy hurt. I knew straightaway when he still said he was  still sick after I told him he was going over to his friends' house to play. Gotta hand it to Buddy, he's got impeccable timing though. I usually work Sunday nights, but took the night off so I could go with Shane to his work party. So now Shane is partying and Buddy is puking his guts out....doesn't quite seem fair somehow! So all in all a super fantastic, hope we're better by tomorrow because someone has horseback riding lessons tomorrow and it's not me, day!

Exhaustion...

Last night, the activity in Buddy's advent calendar said..."get to stay up late and watch 3 of your favorite Christmas movies". He watched one at school, then we went to the ward Christmas Party, which means he stayed up way too late watching what I am guessing was more than his fair share of movies! So the elf got bored with waiting up and decided to do this while no one was looking....

In kind, after Buddy finally woke up (around 10:30)this morning, he got bored and decided to to this while no one was looking....

We ended the boredom quickly when we went to a fair at his school. He ran into so many of his friends there, that we decided  we should throw a baseball party (besides he was already asking, and trust me, baseball is really difficult to play with just two people)....

It went awesomely (except for a few minor episodes of pouting by a few of the attendanees when they didn't get their way (you don't even have to ask, of course Buddy was one of the pouters). Matter of fact after the awesome baseball, we played a game of even more awesome dodge ball with kids vs. parents....that is definitely going on my next party list! So all in all a super fantastic, playing till we fall asleep in a timely manner, day!
